  • Instead of ham use portugese sausage called Chorizco and you can bake it and don't need much spice. But other then that it looks great =). After eating twice a week it taste all that better.

  • disagree with that....there is so much liquid in the sauce and with the additional cooking water, you can make this as thick or as soupy as you wanted to.

  • I literally JUST made this dish after you posted it, with a couple modifications: 1) i had 2 cans of pinquito beans (i use them for when I make chili so I've always got a few cans) and 2) i added a 1/2 tsp of Cumin and probably about 1/2 cup of (mixed) roasted red and green bell pepper diced (homemade your style. Another ingredient I like to keep on-hand, mason jarred in olive oil of course).

    This is fantastic. incredible flavor and texture. I suggest everyone give it a go.
