Great voice....you're overdriving the mic. So when you sing hard pull back from the mic an inch or so, or sing to the side an inch. Watch Celine Dion work a mic, she's an absolute master. ( no, I don't like her music, but she is a masterful technical singer )

No probs. It's pretty simple actually, just listen for the distorted sound at points, that's when you're hitting the mic too hard. Lower the input levels of mic, and get someone to teach you about 'compression'...have them make one setting just for you. It's really simple.

I see drumsetc's point about the growling, but I must disagree - I think it's a great tool for setting tone and for emphasis, and you use it very well. Thoughtful lyrics and an engaging strum pattern. If this is the skeleton of an impending song (you say it's the rough version) it's definitely been drinking enough milk to be powerful and strong!

Hi Rachael. I like this. The growling doesn't work for me though. I prefer your voice clean. You're overdriving the mike at times. Try pulling away from it when you hit the high, hard notes.That'll make it a smoother delivery. I like where the bridge goes; takes me to another place. All in all I think it's a great 1st demo.Try recording it with a bit more compression and keep the mike away from your beautiful face. I've always admired your passion.
