I completely agree with you. They would even replace happy theme songs with sad songs in Iran, and would find the most depressing cartoons in the world to show and censor the happy parts. I too grew up with an overwhelming sense of loss.

Such a sad tv show and it had a sad soundtrack also. I don't know why but in Iran they used to show little kids the saddest animations. I grew up with this unexplained sense of sorrow.

It's very true,

I remember those days of war, helplessnes, bombings and sorrow...

I remember we had only two channels and half of them aired mournings for those who died in revolution, those who were dying in the war, those who were dying in palestine and ...

I grew up to hate those days, to calim that they all belonged to the darkest age of my life, But now that I remember them, the adults were all idealists and romantic at the time, It was just a few years after the days of revolution...

This clip brought me back the saddest and most nostalgic memories of all...

reminded me of my primary school, of my year one Persian txt book, of the moments I used to stare at this magic box enchanted and bewilderd. It reminded me of everyday 5pm in front of the tv, (the only fun our generation had at the time). Now that I think about it i dont regret it, we grew up to care, to think moraly, to be a generation of the revolution and we are different, no matter how sad our lives were...
