Sorry to say that I do not believe another person elected into a corrupt system will make a difference. All the elected officials should be impeached and we should have a new system.
Not a bad idea, but how does one go about impeaching everyone in Washington and starting over? I'm not sure there is a peaceful way of going about that, and I think non-violence must be at the heart of any truly progressive movement for change.
Through this lens, Dennis seems like our best shot.
If all the people did not vote, they would see the whole system would see that they do not have the confidence of the people. Without the people, they are NOTHING. Do you think the government can exist without the people? We give too much consent, but this type of peaceful action would show that "we are mad as hell and we will not take it anymore."

What threat? And what are Jafarzadeh's qualifications? I get suspicious about alot of Iranian dissidents because the most powerful of em have links to the Shah. Does Iran REALLY need him back?! Every credible study I've seen indicates Iran is at least 7-10 years away from nukes. And as even Ron Paul says, Israel can damn take care of itself with its (also illegal and undeclared) 200+ nukes, most of which are probably pointed at Iran and Syria these days anyway. Impeach!
I should correct what I was saying. I meant, most of the most powerful Iranian dissidents in this country have links to the ex-shah's son or similarly unsavory right-wing elements. As authoritarian as Khanamei's regime is, the ancien regime was worse to everyone in Iran, but the western countries and the oil companies. Iran hardly needs them back.
To have Kucinich's honesty and character leading our country would be the best thing that has happened to this country since our Independence! Bush coming to Washington State on Aug 27, 2007. Meet in Bellevue at 12:00 at 8th and Bellevue Way! Wear Orange, bring your outrage, signs, puppets, theatrics, noisemakers and friends; we will not tolerate the war criminal in chief here in Washington State! Spread the word!
When Wolf Blitzer says something completely ridiculously stupid like "we're at war, this is no time to talk about impeachment," I just want someone to tell him to shut the fuck up and stop attempting to brainwash the public.
Right .. have guns available for kids to shoot up their schools, kids at home to accidently shoot their siblings, crazed maniacs to shoot whoever gets in their way, etc!! Gun control? Oh Darn, it will make it so much harder for people to get because they will have background checks ... what a pity!!!
rundoetx: so are you trying to imply that school shootings, accidental in-home shootings, and crazed idiots killing people on the streets with guns does no longer happens in our society?? And you think i have not done MY homework?? There IS such a thing as "reality" ...
YOU also need to do YOUR homework and read what Kucinich says about "gun control" ( Kucinich dot US )
I HAVE done my homework on gun control LAW. They do not prevent any of the above items you mentioned. Prohibition of guns will not work, just as it did not work for alcohol. Of COURSE I am not for street shootings, unresponsible parents, or mass killings. Blu, NO LAW has or will prevent guns from winding up in the hands of a criminal. Vote Ron Paul.
rundoetx said: NO LAW has or will prevent guns from winding up in the hands of a criminal
Exactly!! It is my STRONG opinion that ALL GUNS should be banned, removed and destroyed from EVERYONE!! Before you spew your comment saying this is impossible, you might know that in England even the police officers DO NOT carry guns and they have a MUCH LOWER gun crime rate than the U.S.!!
That said, Bluvenus is right. If you're a hunter or a cop or something, that's covered. I live in NY and I can tell you it's rather obvious that our tight gun laws are clearly one of the main reasons we remain the safest major American city in terms of violent crime, especially since most of those guns, come from Virginia. Remember what happened there in April? And which candidate was the only one to suspend his campaign for the victims, as well as to draft this handgun ban bill?
Kucinich says: I have friends who both hunt and shoot. These are good people, they are not criminals, and they lock up their guns when not using them. I support their right to their hobbies, and I SUPPORT THE RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS. I have also talked with widows and children left fatherless due to the improper use of firearms. Sensible laws to prevent guns from winding up in the wrong hands do not infringe on any constitutional rights.
True, our individual votes don't mean much, especially when they go for a major candidate and are lost in the electoral college. But when marginalized candidates get significant support, it sends a strong message to the powerful interests that control our media and political system. It tells them that their attempts to stifle real discussion and debate and to create an artificial center based on ignorance are failing. It scares them, but it empowers us and, I would argue, makes us more human.
cheney is a straight fucking crook, i would be all for impeaching the cold hearted bastard. You would think Kucinich would get a nice seat somewhere in the white house if the dems get elected to presidency
Dennis Kucinich is one of the very few incumbent politicians I agree with. Even my own liberal Congresswoman Linda Sanchez refuses to become a co-sponsor to H.R. 333 (to Impeach Dick Cheney). Kucinich is a man of principle, most of the other Democrats are gutless, and they should be ashamed of themselves.
About half of the members of the House are liberal, like Rep. Sanchez, but it is my opinion that they, for the most part do not support H. Res. 333 because they want to see the war in Iraq continue until at least until 2008.
Well, you may be right. One thing for sure though, if we had a draft again in this country, you would find many more congress people against it, especially if their sons or daughters had to serve. It's a shame that the burden for this illegal and immoral war rests on the shoulders of so few. I'm a Vietnam vet who has seen war, up close and personal, and I did not think we would get so easily sucked into another colossal mistake. But we did ;)
Should it also be left up to states and localities to decide whether slavery should be re-instituted? Is he against all federal protections for basic human rights, or just those that involve a woman's right to personal physical autonomy?
Ron Paul is disrespectful to half the population in his anti-abortion stance. If men can't be forced to give bone marrow to save lives, women shouldn't be forced through pregnancy to bring new lives into this world. If Ron Paul were a woman, I think he would consider autonomy of one's body one area that is not up to voters and states. It's a personal decision. HENCE a Constitutional right.
asdffd, you're right about how the world despises Bush (or feels sorry for us dupes), but read Michael Moore's STUPID WHITE MEN, if you think Clinton was a saint. He wasn't president because corporate rulers hated him. He was responsible for helping set the stage for invading Iraq and wooing polluters, and ... ugh. YUCK.
If Kucinich gets the nom I will seriously consider it, but unfortuantely he is a victim of our corporate media hacks too. I think you are way off about Ron Pauls policies though, he is one of us. Healthcare isnt privitized right now and look at the mess we're in. Governement involvement opens up the doors for too much corruption. (lobbyists buy off politicians)
Ron Paul is not interested in 9/11. He is interested in cutting taxes for the corporations currently raping America. Neo-Libertarianism is as dangerous as Neo-conservatism.
It looks like Dennis Kucinich, is the, Representative, for America, the Constitution, the People, to Impeach, George Bush and Dick Cheney, so if you like his necktie, or not, he is the one at this time, I think we should give our, 'support', unless a better Candidate comes along.
As of, today, vote for President, Dennis Kucinich.
Let us show, that, We, the People, support, Impeachment of, George Bush and Dick Cheney.
What I'm about to say, I say as someone who has lived in 4 European countries and in the United States (Sweden 17 years, UK 1 year, France 1 year, Italy 1 year, US 3 years).
The only way the US will ever regain some of the respect that you HAD in the rest of the world - is by impeaching your administration and acting like you have a backbone.
We do not consider you the land of the free, home of the brave. Infact, your country is the least FREE of the 5 nations I have resided in. It's a blatant lie and a joke - you all know it. You just sit back and let them drag your reputation anf imaginary freedoms in the dirt over and over again.
We all know you have guns at home... do something usefull with them for once. Revolt and overthrow.
(Ya oldhacks, I like your approach, maybe Bush'll fall for it!) Success, Bush, you've got success hehe you did it. We're satisfied and now we'll give you a blue ribbon. Now withdraw troops!
Congress isn't going to impeach a man using the laws that the congress is complicit in passing. How naive can you be. Rahm Emanuel, the leader of the DEMOCRATIC CONGRESSIONAL CAMPAIGN COMMITTEE personally funneled money to only pro-war candidates in the Idono Democartic party. I'm so glad democrats
stand for anti-war and pro medicare policies while letting this guy fund only the pro-war candidates he wanted to. Democrats are as a complete joke as are
I can just watch this over and over again 'cause it's like the idealistic cartoons I used to watch as a kid...finally, someone sees thing the way I do... Kucinich!
Mr. Kucinich is my candidate, and has been since I first learned about his ideals and the singular fact that he - alone of all the Democratic candidates, seemingly - is FAITHFUL to those ideals! What a concept! A politician who stands up for what he believes instead of following whichever way the foul wind from the White House seems to be blowing.
Ron Paul is an idealogue that thinks Privatizing everything will lead to the best possible consequences for society, just like the industrial revolution and the gilded age right Ron? Ron Paul is a libertarian and a Randian in the disguise as a Republican. His views on social freedom are fine but his ideology in respect to the Market is just as naive as communism.
Is that right Judoskeleton? Like how without government intervention monopolies would control the price of goods? How the fluctuations in the market would be ridiculously unstable without protections? Like how Finland with its capital controls and heavy government investment was ranked the second most competitive economy in the world last year (World Economic Forum)? Don't tell me what I need to learn.
Simply not true at all. The rhetoric of monopolies and wild fluctuations has been used to quell free markets for ages. Having a title of being a competitive economy does little to disprove the power of a free market. Free markets may have wild swings and monopolies as do the heavily regulated, stagnant markets.
I assume that you are a scholar of economics, to claim that Ron Paul does not understand the Market. Dr. Paul is well versed in the field of economics.
He is the foremost candidate out of all other candidates in the US election. My suggestion to you is, prior to negatively commenting on the man, you explore the man's background and writings.
Oh, I don't know. Perhaps we should ask the Bush family, since they are great friends with Bin Laden's family. Does everyone remember that after the Twin Towers were attacked, during the days following of no-fly, Bush helped the Bin Laden's leave the U.S?
When four black college students decided to sit-in at Woolworth's lunch counter, I'm sure people said, "What will come of that? They'll just get arrested and it will all be forgotten." Nothing worthwhile, nothing that challenges the status quo or acts revolutionary has an easy time of it. It takes education, commitment, perseverance, and a passion for the truth no matter what.
Supporting Dennis Kucinich may not make him president (and yet, maybe it will!), but doing the right thing will push the bar higher for others to stand upon, and that's what we need.
This country has been pushed further to the right by the Democratic party using despicable scare tactics to cover their complicity with this regime that they are full partners in - suggesting the best we have is to vote the lesser of evils. Forget it. I would rather all the Hillary Rodham Bushes and John "$500 haircut" Edwardses know they didn't get my vote. Kucinich will have my vote regardless of the polls.
If i could vote (too young), i would vote for Ron Paul probably, Hillary doesn't have any emotions and is ugly, that's why i wouldn't vote for her, lmao
I'm sorry chella, but Ron Paul seems to grasp the more centered and mixed feelings of the American public. He stands by us Libertarians and the mixed crowds of American people that won't support a far left contender like Kucinich and neither a far right person like his fellow Republicans. News Flash! Kucinich will not get the primary vote and even if he wins that, the general election won't bow to his Communist ideals. Ron Paul seems to have the right voice for the true Americans.
Kucinich seems like the only candidate willing to tell the truth ie...lies leading to war and courage to call for impeachment which seems justified. But no one pay attention and spammers here are just ignorant idiots. Ron Paul stands for more privitazation IMO
THE PEACEMAN COMETH, INDEED! Great video, you guys!...I love that you included the clip in which NONE of the other Democratic candidates were willing to raise their hands in support of Kucinich in the impeachment process - brillilant! - and that is a moment we should always remember. It is chilling to think of having someone in the White House that was not willing or able to see that Cheney is a crook and a menace to the ideals of America's founders. Go, Peaceman!!!
dude 54% of america? no not america.. 54% of the people interviewed. they didn't get taht statistic from asking everyone in america so that can't be based in any kind of fact
Polling works by asking questions of a statistically significant number of people and then extrapolating. This poll was of 1,100 adults and has a margin of error of +/- 3%. A poll of 1,000+ people can make accurate predictions about a group of almost any size and composition, including all Americans. This is exactly how Pew, Rasmussen, CBS, CNN, etc. conduct their national polls.
dude i know how polls work. what i don't understand is how someone can base siomething in such math with such assuredness when people are not as predicable as that. 1,000 people out of an entire country is not enough
Well polls are a very misunderstood science in the public consciousness. I didn't mean to question your knowledge. You're right that polls of 1,000+ people are not exact measures of opinion -- no poll is unless you question every single person in the group you're measuring. But by statistically significant I mean that if you do 100 polls of 1,000 people, then in 95 of those 100 polls you are going to get the same result +/- 3%.
i see what you mean and i understand. i jsut rbt that a poll of such size would really get a grip on thetirety of the country. 1,000 people from one state aren't going to be the same as another.. it's odd to me, i have to admit though that most likely the reason i don't agree is i hate things adding u mathematically. ilike to think deeper into things and have more options than always one se answer.
Polling any more than 1,000 people does not dramatically increase the accuracy of the poll (but less than 1,000 respondents dramatically reduces the accuracy). Point being, we can be confident that the number of Americans who support impeaching Cheney is over 50%.
I am a woman, and Ron Paul does not respect my autonomy as a human being capable of making the most personal choice a person can make. By suggesting abortion should not be a legal option for women because of a personal experience he had is frightening. Women cannot have equality as long as they can be forced through pregnancy, period.
Ron Paul is against federal funding of abortions and wants to overturn Roe v Wade. He has stated many times that this matter should be decided at the local level (i.e. state government) His prolife position is one of personal conviction, and he could no more make abortion illegal than he could sprout wings. He understands this...why don't you?
Name one president that has had any affect on Roe v Wade since its creation. The president cannot legislate from the oval office. Abortion is an absolute moot point in the presidential election. Don't you think that if it were possible, George Sr, and especially George Jr would have done it by now? The abortion stance is at best a means of identifying with a party's base group of supporters. To name this as the major reason not to elect a candidate is short sighted.
00dragon44, hardly. Shortsighted is using your publicity and position - a position that represents not only men, but also women as they appoint federal and supreme court justices (as Bush has done), approve or veto federal funds (as Bush has done), and propagandize from the highest office. Don't be foolish. An anti-abortion president is not good for women, and frankly, such a disrespectful ideology toward women will spill over into other policies as well.
Hey, dragon44, I am a woman ... this is MY body and MY future ... I don't want to see no messing around with "moot points" ... of course abortion IS a moot point to men ... maybe you should all be held crimally accountable when you leave a child behind??
Right ... that's exactly WHY politicians, especially the hard right christian conservatives, have strong positions on issues ... it's their "personal convictions"! Ron Paul IS basically and anti-war Republican ... face it!! I could NEVER vote for him for many reasons ...
Wromg. Ron Paul may not agree with you on abortion rights. But he believes that every American has the right to thier own personal rights. He (as the constitution states), Leraves it up to the states . Not the Federal Government.
Ron Paul was the first comgressman to oppose the war. Impeacnhment at this time is a total waste of resorces and effort. Get out and Vote for Ron Paul. Bring America back to what is is supposed to be.
Uuuhh .. actually Kucinich has not only been speaking out BOLDLY against the build up to the invasion (since 2002!), but he also rallied 125 members of Congress to also vote against the invasion (one of those was Paul) AND he voted against EVERY supplemental for funding the war!!
Get your facts straight BEFORE making such statements!!
We're was this in the news? in mainstream media? Someone please elect him as our democrat candidate! I would love to see him and Ron go against each other in 08.
uhhhh ... obviously you haven't noticed the MANY other "comedic" videos by certain candidates such as Clinton, Obama, Ron Paul, and others ... secondly, this is NOT an authorized Kucinich campaign ad, it is a really cool "comedic" video done by Kucinich supporters!! Personally, I think it SHOULD be a campaign ad!!
Ok, great, I'm all for the impeachment of officials that don't follow their oaths of office but this isnt an issue on which i would give or deny someone my vote. There are a lot of other important things to consider when deciding who to vote for.

Right .. have guns available for kids to shoot up their schools, kids at home to accidently shoot their siblings, crazed maniacs to shoot whoever gets in their way, etc!! Gun control? Oh Darn, it will make it so much harder for people to get because they will have background checks ... what a pity!!!

YOU also need to do YOUR homework and read what Kucinich says about "gun control" ( Kucinich dot US )
Bluvenus 4 years ago
I HAVE done my homework on gun control LAW. They do not prevent any of the above items you mentioned. Prohibition of guns will not work, just as it did not work for alcohol. Of COURSE I am not for street shootings, unresponsible parents, or mass killings. Blu, NO LAW has or will prevent guns from winding up in the hands of a criminal. Vote Ron Paul.

I am not going to argue this with you any more.
I do not "spew".
If you don't like guns, don't own one, but leave mine alone.
I know my facts. (Swat teams in England do carry weapons.)
But then again this is america not england. Our constititution says I can own a gun.

Dennis Kucinich is one of the very few incumbent politicians I agree with. Even my own liberal Congresswoman Linda Sanchez refuses to become a co-sponsor to H.R. 333 (to Impeach Dick Cheney). Kucinich is a man of principle, most of the other Democrats are gutless, and they should be ashamed of themselves.
shudderbug 4 years ago
About half of the members of the House are liberal, like Rep. Sanchez, but it is my opinion that they, for the most part do not support H. Res. 333 because they want to see the war in Iraq continue until at least until 2008.
dhoag12 4 years ago

EsoterikGirl 4 years ago
Ron Paul is disrespectful to half the population in his anti-abortion stance. If men can't be forced to give bone marrow to save lives, women shouldn't be forced through pregnancy to bring new lives into this world. If Ron Paul were a woman, I think he would consider autonomy of one's body one area that is not up to voters and states. It's a personal decision. HENCE a Constitutional right.

asdffd, you're right about how the world despises Bush (or feels sorry for us dupes), but read Michael Moore's STUPID WHITE MEN, if you think Clinton was a saint.

PART 2 ------
We do not consider you the land of the free, home of the brave. Infact, your country is the least FREE of the 5 nations I have resided in. It's a blatant lie and a joke - you all know it. You just sit back and let them drag your reputation anf imaginary freedoms in the dirt over and over again.

You have much to learn about free markets.
judoskeleton 4 years ago
Is that right Judoskeleton? Like how without government intervention monopolies would control the price of goods? How the fluctuations in the market would be ridiculously unstable without protections? Like how Finland with its capital controls and heavy government investment was ranked the second most competitive economy in the world last year (World Economic Forum)? Don't tell me what I need to learn.
passinafternoon 4 years ago
Simply not true at all. The rhetoric of monopolies and wild fluctuations has been used to quell free markets for ages. Having a title of being a competitive economy does little to disprove the power of a free market. Free markets may have wild swings and monopolies as do the heavily regulated, stagnant markets.
judoskeleton 4 years ago
I assume that you are a scholar of economics, to claim that Ron Paul does not understand the Market. Dr. Paul is well versed in the field of economics.
He is the foremost candidate out of all other candidates in the US election. My suggestion to you is, prior to negatively commenting on the man, you explore the man's background and writings.

Evmonk 4 years ago
dude i know how polls work. what i don't understand is how someone can base siomething in such math with such assuredness when people are not as predicable as that. 1,000 people out of an entire country is not enough
BatmanJunky 4 years ago
Well polls are a very misunderstood science in the public consciousness. I didn't mean to question your knowledge. You're right that polls of 1,000+ people are not exact measures of opinion -- no poll is unless you question every single person in the group you're measuring. But by statistically significant I mean that if you do 100 polls of 1,000 people, then in 95 of those 100 polls you are going to get the same result +/- 3%.
Evmonk 4 years ago
i see what you mean and i understand. i jsut rbt that a poll of such size would really get a grip on thetirety of the country. 1,000 people from one state aren't going to be the same as another.. it's odd to me, i have to admit though that most likely the reason i don't agree is i hate things adding u mathematically. ilike to think deeper into things and have more options than always one se answer.
BatmanJunky 4 years ago
Polling any more than 1,000 people does not dramatically increase the accuracy of the poll (but less than 1,000 respondents dramatically reduces the accuracy). Point being, we can be confident that the number of Americans who support impeaching Cheney is over 50%.

I am a woman, and Ron Paul does not respect my autonomy as a human being capable of making the most personal choice a person can make. By suggesting abortion should not be a legal option for women because of a personal experience he had is frightening. Women cannot have equality as long as they can be forced through pregnancy, period.
EsoterikGirl 4 years ago
Ron Paul is against federal funding of abortions and wants to overturn Roe v Wade. He has stated many times that this matter should be decided at the local level (i.e. state government) His prolife position is one of personal conviction, and he could no more make abortion illegal than he could sprout wings. He understands this...why don't you?
00dragon44 4 years ago
Ron Paul wants to make abortion illegal at the federal level. As president he could most certainly do it. Wake up!
mgregory22 4 years ago
Name one president that has had any affect on Roe v Wade since its creation. The president cannot legislate from the oval office. Abortion is an absolute moot point in the presidential election. Don't you think that if it were possible, George Sr, and especially George Jr would have done it by now? The abortion stance is at best a means of identifying with a party's base group of supporters. To name this as the major reason not to elect a candidate is short sighted.
00dragon44 4 years ago
00dragon44, hardly. Shortsighted is using your publicity and position - a position that represents not only men, but also women as they appoint federal and supreme court justices (as Bush has done), approve or veto federal funds (as Bush has done), and propagandize from the highest office. Don't be foolish. An anti-abortion president is not good for women, and frankly, such a disrespectful ideology toward women will spill over into other policies as well.
EsoterikGirl 4 years ago
Hey, dragon44, I am a woman ... this is MY body and MY future ... I don't want to see no messing around with "moot points" ... of course abortion IS a moot point to men ... maybe you should all be held crimally accountable when you leave a child behind??
