Comments: this is punk. I disagree. I bought this CD and heard this track and thought, " a rocker."
This is straight rock n' roll, which in today's age, sound pretty punk (against the mainstream), which is really a damn shame. Long live Rock n' roll!!!!!!!
ryan adams isnt quite rock, he is also very soft in the majority of his songs (see: i see monsteres, when the stars go blue, thank you louise, etc) but i definitely see where you are coming from, the cardinals also have a lot of energetic songs, like halloweenhead
depends what you mean by punk. you say punk nowadays and people think of the jonas brothers. not the defintion of punk. but if you say punk meaning a song or style unlike anything else, then i agree with you.
R.A.& the cards are the definition of punk. ya know, the jones brothers are mainstreem but "punk" sounding. its funny b/c now punk sounding stuff is mainstreem and a band thats delicite and smart and interesting is alternative and, to me, doing some of the punkest things of all. a band that respects its fanbase, stays true to whatever sound THEY want, and always delivers is to me totally braking barriors and going beyond what the suits expect them to do.
why else would i be listening to an otherwise un-heard of lyrical genious and his alt country band? ha, i love the cards. its perfect music for life and adams has so many compleatly perfect songs.
no one can possibly have the jonas brothers come to mind with punk- seriously, kids now don't KNOW the meaning of punk... it never enters their brains, haha they think it's rock... god they SUCK.
who said anything about the jonas brothers? i cant talk bad about them because my 8 year old sister is a type I diabetic that uses nick as a security blanket knowing she can still achieve, but when i think punk, i think iggy, the sex pistols, johnny rotten, the verve, the clash, killers, not jonas brothers
I know the song is Magick, I was just saying what, your favorite isn't cobwebs? That's what I meant, but i agree both are great. Actually now my favorite is starting to be "fix it"
Mushroom clouds, missle strikes, what goes around comes around, turn the radio on. Is this a song about war, or current events or something? That would be really cool.
Great song but I wish the chorus had more drums

Ryan Adams is his own genre, you can't categorize his music. It is what it is, I love it all.
MelanieMarlane 2 years ago 9
@MelanieMarlane Well said, my friend. I hate it when people try to categorize music, especially Ryan's - it only prejudices judgement.
jimbopumbapigsticks 1 year ago
@MelanieMarlane It sounds to me like he wants to be Jack White.

So turn the radio on
So turn the radio up
So turn the radio up loud and get down
Let your body move
Let your body sway
Listen to the music play
