  • HOW THE HELL DID I GET THERE???

  • @cabovertrucker Why ask why???

  • @YTpartners okay!why?

  • I think many celebs are posting their own content on YouTube because they know it is going to wind up on YouTube anyway. As a partner they at least get to make money from it. UniversalMusic is the greatest example, but even PhilHendrie has his own channel, although he is not yet a partner. Viacom is losing out on this deal. They could be getting views and ad revenue like Universal if they get with the program.

  • I personally think boob tubers should be banned from partnerships on YouTube, in fact they should be banned altogether.

  • great point!

  • Really, the boob tube is there 24 hours a day, why should they also occupy YouTube's space and spotlight? I think it's a travesty that new talent is hard to find because of this inequity. I think a lot of abuse occurs - I mean half the channels I subscribe to take their material right off TV, like the news spots, etc. I don't mind the up-to-date news bites so much, but the rest of it is worthless for me.

  • You would do better if you sent this question out to more youtubers.

  • nobody cares about the partnership program.

  • I do

  • I would say that this leads into the next question that is on everybody's mind. What do we think of the regular folks who have become partner/revenue earners? Are they to be as despised as the famous celebrity partners?

How do we all get along, if some are making money, yet the vast majority are not?

Well, nobody ever watched TV or movies, thinking it was supposed to be fair. It was always the realm of competition and capitalism.

  • I don't think the partnership program provides a big enough incentive - I think we will have to make opportunities available to us in the way of a collective or cooperative or something other than what is on the books, which seem cooked in favor of Google/YouTube. They are corporate driven and must pay their stock holders before they even think about paying partners what they owe them. I think it's a dirty sham and just another corporate trick to screw the little guys.

  • I have no idea since i am a baby being exploited shamelessly by my abusive parents. ROFL

  • Scary movie ;o) About your question in the description. As far as I know these corporate partners (e.g. Paris Hilton, Warner Bros Music,...) are partners to promote their videos as advertisement here. I guess YT is making money by them. If yes then why not ... also it is not neccessary then for others to violate the Copyrights by uploading their videos here as it is already up.

So even if they're a different kind of partners they still need to be here in my oppinion.
