When Jason took over lead vox on this record, the powers that be felt it wasn't in the vein that they felt SK should have been... even though Jason was the musical genius behind the band's production and direction. Opportunity missed.

@thelogicmusic Yes Jason was the driving force behind Saigon kick, and the primary songwriter, which inevitably caused there demise.. I am actually friends with every originally member, and went to School with Tom Defile, and Hung out with Matty and Phil.

as far as production is concerned, they would have been better off having Michael Wagner produce all of the Albums. as the first one sounded and still sounds the best.

I had some connections at Atlantic Records, back in the day, and got to hang out with them in 1992 at Rocky's in Charlotte, NC- Lizard tour. it was monumental to me- but not them, of course- ha. I got to hang out with them again in Nov, 95 in Hickory NC. Matt Kramer was gone by this time. Phil had the personality of a tree, but everyone else- including Jason- was super nice. We hung out for quite a long time.

While I've had some great conversations with Matt over wine and music, Jason never responded to my salutations (albeit only 1). Back in the day, it was Jason who was nice and Matt who was kinda distant (but not in a cruel way). It's funny how tides turn.
