  • I have a Luthoric chubby

  • when i saw the guitar i liked the video

  • this isn't from minarik!!! IT's CLAUDIO SANCHEZ' !

  • a lot of people will buy this if their soul will be owned by the devil himself

  • "confirms the medusa is an absolute BEAST"

  • Can you just make fucking normal guitar?

  • @CROGrof Whats wrong with designing a guitar to try and make it sound as good as possible.

  • @garyc2 Well, at least he can make a normal shape guitar and make his own sound.

  • id die for that..

  • Sounds like Napoleon Dynamite giving me a guitar review.

  • @XWEDarkAngel holy shit it does

  • 3 humbuckers?

  • It looks like a B.C.Rich that didn't get enough oxygen at birth...

  • @WoWintosh The guy that owns the compsny used to design and make B.C Rich's High end guitars. There was a despute and he went into his own business.

    Thats what I heard anyway.

  • Pro's and Con's here we go:

    Cons:

    doesnt sit well

    electronics not special

    giant body

    sharp edges

Beginner luthier choices such as the position of the input

    Pros:

it could probably hold down a nice stack of paper haha

  • @hoodfigga0987 does sit well, the pikcups that come stock sound great and are hand made, the bodys light cause the african mahogany aka Korina wood, and sharp edges are hardcore. and i agree it holds paper well

  • COOL!!!!! Minarik guitars are crazy! But still, god bless the gibson les paul.

  • A beautiful guitar that I have seen played live, both the cheap model and the more expensive custom model. The custom work is almost all cosmetic, you can completely customize these guitars with pickups and frets, but mostly the custom work is the Minarik signature inlays. This guitar has all of the tone they say it has, it looks sick, and is by far one of the best guitars on the market for the price, you have to remember that this guitar can play nearly any genre, it's a jack of all trades.

  • you tube kron294

  • Do they make a hamburger shaped guitar?.............nah i'm kidding. This guitar reminds me of an old wood carving..........can't remember the title. looks pretty cool.

You make a good point GuitarnScythes, this guitar looks like it would curse the first knee it was set upon lol!

  • if the lotus is Jesus's Guitar this one is Satan's Guitar

  • No offense but look how the guitar sits on his leg, that's not comfortable. And I've never been a fan of 'odd-shaped' guitar, they look like they are crying for attention. Yes it's beatifully crafted, but I'll take my superstrat any day of the week

  • Sounds better clean than distorted.

  • @Desmaad probably a really shitty distortion

  • @Desmaad I totally agree.............might be a cheap little amp he's plugged into........it's still ugly though....

  • The Minarik Inferno kills the studio medusa

  • when they are designnig the guitars they are taken a picture of a fire then like ohh that part looks cool lets make a guitar of it

  • thumbs up for the arizona cardinals shirt!!!

  • i bout one of those cost me near 6000

  • That thing would look good on stage... to a teen age boy who lives in a trailer park and regularly huffs glue. Otherwise, it'd be a complete pain in the ass.

  • hell yeah arizona cardinals

  • does guitar center sale this brand?

  • @dclsithlord no sir

  • @dclsithlord dont shop at guitar center.

  • Needs more frets..

  • this one isnt as bad as that firebolt shit i gotta say this is the only decent minarik available

  • I like this one a lot. How much do these run for?

  • @FranticRock If you google it, it's around the $800-$900 price range. :P

  • @Xrevoulution834 That's only the studio x-treme series, actually. I'm pretty sure the super custom series (the one seen in the video) would run you a couple thousand at least.

  • Damn, but whats the difference between the 2?

  • @Xrevoulution834 It's all cosmetic, really. I own a Studio X-treme Medusa, and I love it, but the face of the body of the guitar is flat, unlike the one shown here, which is contoured. I'm not sure why they advertise it as having three pickups though, because I'm pretty sure that would up the price quite a bit.

But as far as I know (according to an email I got today from Minarik guitars), $3250 will get you a Medusa exactly like the one in the video minus the middle pickup.

  • @Xrevoulution834 And in their defense, they don't just charge the extra $2000 for kicks and giggles. All super custom Medusas are hand-carved and worked on by at least three specialists, according to what they told me.

  • Hmm, i'd rather get the one I googled, but right now, i'm saving up for a double neck guitar, the medusa can wait.

  • @Xrevoulution834 The difference is pretty significant. The obvious difference is the archtop on the custom. The customs are handbuilt in LA and after meeting the luthier, I am more than confident about them. I've played the SE model and it's just not the same. It's not as vibrant and the attention to detail is not as incredibly breath-taking. Though the SE is nice, the SC model approaches some of the highest quality in guitars made anywhere today. You won't be disappointed by an SE.

  • Sweet

  • This guitar has 3 humbuckers but it's too big for the reality of normal performance play;neat looking but a novelty item.

  • And if that is a Rivera amp...how then does the distortion sound so bad? Hmmmm..maybe it is the guitar...

  • Man, somebody get this guy a good sounding amp. Million dollar guitar, this video (and other related vids with the same guy playing) makes the distortion sounds absolutely suck.

  • wow this guitar looks amazing

  • DAMN THIS BICH IS UGLY!!!!!!!

  • jizzed in my pants

  • look at the way the guitar sits on his leg, looks really painful and anything but comfortable

  • how much!!!!!!!

  • its about 1.1 grand for the bergundy one I think I'm going to get either that or the white one and have it gold trimmed like Claudio Sanchez's

  • egh.... i love my 70's fender stratocaster.... don't need anything fancy

  • @bassandguitargreg Haha, I said the exact same thing when I saw this guitar!

  • that looks fucking amazing

  • this looks like the guitar the BC rich forgot...

  • those guitar have a KISS band look...perfect for Stanley and friends..

  • i think this guitar looks pretty cool!

  • it looks like the devil farted.

  • @octane1O1 sounds like it too.....

  • i hate minarik guitars, they look so ridiculous and corny... i must agree with MourningsEnd, nothing beats a good old gibson or fender

  • Holy shit...

this is possibly the most beautiful guitar i've ever seen...

    0_0

  • minarik make a better 1

    its the triple neck lotus

  • i totally agree the minarik medusa is a magnificent guitar i want one so bad!

  • Dog of a guitar

  • These guys make it sound like Da Vinci built that guitar or something. I don't care if it has a super death chamber bass tone ultra switch, it still looks like shit.

  • Tell me how it looks like shit.

  • Why? Are you going to somehow disprove my opinion? Good luck. Being a fan of more traditional shaped guitars, I do not find this one to be attractive in the least.

  • your just not open to new things. and in my opinion this man is he Da Vinci of guitars building. gibson could never make guitars these advanced. so how are you going to disprove my opinion?

  • And I can argue that you're not open to old things. When have I ever expressed interest in your opinions, much less disproving them?

  • im sorry it just pisses me off seeing people say something is shit because they are close minded. you could just say you dont like it insted of bashing it.

  • It's not aesthetically appealing to me. This in no way implies that I'm closed minded. I can assume that you're a middle aged male stripper by reading your comments, but should I? No. Don't make baseless assumptions.

  • if its not appealing to you then dont say it looks like shit. thats all im saying. if you dont want people to make "baseless assumptions" about you the watch what you say.

  • But I think it looks like shit, so why shouldn't I say it? Heed your own advice, Mr. Male Stripper. Don't comment on the opinions of others if you don't want to be pegged as an adult entertainer.

  • i sure dig on the song at the end whatever it is

  • ya it sounds pretty cool, wonder if the medusa is playing that

  • i have looked all over the internet/ emailed minarik and they didnt respond so i have no idea....i bet its someone who edorses minarik but i cant find anything

  • well if you do manage to find it, mind messaging me? would love to have it :D

  • sure dude no problem

  • he says that the balance and weight of the guitar are picture perfect......i didnt know balance and weight had anything to do with pictures

  • Comment removed

  • wow... I got a pamphlet on their guitars, and this was in there. The guy pretty much read off of the pamphlet.

  • Won't belive that until I have played one...

  • Horrible POC

  • i would kill to play this

  • wow.... this is guitar for GODS! i would never ever be even near to even see this masterpiece

  • Tacky.

  • No

But it can sound sooooo much better than this

  • yeah is that painfull to have sitting on your knee? Aslo this voice over guy tries to hard. Just have a guitarist descibe it.

  • go cardinals

  • dude it looks like those spikes are like drilling into ur legs

  • he seems to be soo uncomfortable when playin it..

  • Why would you buy a guitar that's chambered to sound tonally INCREDIBLY and put active pickups in it?

  • this is the super custom medusa model isnt it?

  • this guys voice is annoying, it sounds like a robot!

    but nice guitar! looks beautiful!

  • That is like "BAM"!!! In You' Face!! An I thought I drew the most extreme guitar ever... i failed

  • Oh Jesus what I would do to get this beauty.

  • meh

  • Awesome Guitar, Awesome preview.

  • I bet if you put a tone chamber the size of Oprahs ass the guitar would sound like a bass

  • dude you fuck it's the god dfamn pick ups

that and if you listen it's literally over driven

  • but u can change the damn pickups, and it seems like u only like popular guitar names, u dont even add any other brands of guitars into there, going single mindedly into the companies which have overtaken most minds of people. pretty much any high quality guitar is gonna be good. and this probably is good to some people, but dont say that this is awful, or people wouldnt buy them.

  • are you suggesting that if something isnt good people wont buy it??? i think you give many people too much credit lol

  • I dont like the standard medusa, you need custom pickups to make it sound good, but once you do, its only barely worth the price.

  • i agree its a beautiful guitar but maybe some emgs ?

  • this guitar is sooooo amazing

amazing job on mine again guys!

  • i want this guitar!!!!

  • i just shit my pants in amazment.but i think i like cladios more

  • ah yes the medusa and coheed YAY

  • My opinion is; this aint no rock n roll dude......

    know your classics... get alive!!

  • Sorry, but you shouldn't play this guitar in an Arizona Cardinals t-shirt, you need to be wearing something spiffy to match the guitar's elegance.

  • sweet but i wonder how much it cost

  • Look great but sounds kinda nasty

  • not a fan of this guitar, doesnt sound great, and looks extremely flamboyant,

  • or you could buy a gibson explorer for half the price......

  • thats gotta be a bitch to play on your lap with the corners poking in like that :S

  • Youtube has the tendency to make you sound like shit.

  • the only Minarik i've played. Sitting down at my local Long and Mcquade. Most beautiful guitar I have ever seen, sounds like a dream but it pinched the hell out of my leg!

  • the one very tiny downside that i noticed, didn't look very comfortable to play while sitting. small price to pay for a guitar this kickass though.

  • who's gonna buy this but some D&D power metal enthusiast?

  • coheed & cambria

  • Fail.

  • emo-esque?

    *facepalm*

please remove the cock from your ear because it seems to be fucking with your brain

  • wow, coheed and cambria are NOT emo at all, theyre freakin prog rock, i dunno who droped you on your head when you were younger but damn your fuckin retarded

  • And what's so bad about power metal?

  • well, you know, it's like, gay and stuff. especially after the 90s.

  • HUh, really? Anything else besides that biased statement? You state on your own page you dig bands that master their instruments so....

How are bands like Sonata Antarctica and Blind Guardian gay?

Is it cause they have high vocals?

There are bands on your page with high vocals

  • the high ends don't bother me it's the predictable anthemic choruses, the sing-alongs that you just know every power metal band does, it's a very basic, safe genre where nobody raises any bars or dares to do anything different. Yes they can master their instruments but they don't take it anywhere new, nobody stands out in any innovative way. Sonata Antartica & Blind Guardian are boring as hell to ME.

I listen to 80s' Helloween & Savatage, and that'll do. dragonforce sux nvrmnd their leet skillz

  • Never said i liked dragonforce. I understand where you are coming from, however.

    take care

  • "well, you know, it's like, gay and stuff. especially after the 90s."

I laughed my ass off with that comment.

Thanx for making my day... hahhaha

  • there are only three of them in the world

    one is owned by minarik

one is owned by coheed and cambria

and the last one just happens to be owned by my music teacher, it is an amazing instrument wen heard live

  • That's a blatant lie. Minarik produces Medusa guitars for anyone, but you have to call them to custom order it.

  • There are now more like 6-7 custom Medusas, maybe more. They will make them for anyone, but they are not mass produced. To my knowledge, they're slowly crawling off the workbench one at a time. No need to be so aggressive. At one point not long ago there were only three and thankfully they keep making them. After they make a few more, you can call this a blatant lie, I suppose.

  • wow.........that is big money right der.

  • Amazing! I like the firebolt slightly better. But such an amazing tone on this thing it's a beauty, Minarik you guys make great guitars!

    I'm interested! =D

  • OMG i want one

  • Ignoring whatever his rig is, the clarity of that gorgeous guitar's sounds is amazing! I'll have to pick up a custom when I get into the money ;P

    God I love Minarik.

  • I agree, the medusa get's my vote for sweetest guitar of all time, Its so damn original. I think minarik is a friggin genius. friggin brilliant guitar.

  • Hell yeah man, that is the wickedest guitar i've seen!

  • The medusa is the coolest guitar ever. I saw claudio playing his on tour in 2007. There is a HUGE difference in the sound of his medusa and the other guitars he plays. when he switched between them at the show it sounded like someone pulled the E.Q. out when he went to his explorer. No offense to you gibson guys/girls... but this medusa sounds awesome.

I heard it with my own ears.

  • this is such a load of crap, my friend had one, they are really nice sounding guitar. But this nonesense about... we added a extra half pound of wood on the right evens out evertyhing... theres no it can affect it as much as they ential

  • Actually, your wrong. The engineering minarik does on their bodies makes them sound incredible. The owner of tone pros bridges, dwight deveraux took a minarik into his sound lab with the owner of a competing guitar company. They both agreed that the body engineering works because the tone and sustain was undeniable when put asgainst other guitars with the same pick-ups. Hey tremor100, the angry train is leaving..better get on..lol

  • are you retarded... i said they build excellent guitars, but im also saying adding 3 more inches of wood wont affect it that much, tone chambering yes... whatever you say cheif. Put the same Pups into another tone chambered minirik and it will sound almost exactly the same regardless if i has a extra large left side

  • I am curious as to how your friend owned one when there are only 4 in existence. The one here is #1. Claudio of Coheed and Cambria has #3 and #4. I have #2. So who's your friend? This guitar sounds absolutely phenomenal. Its tone is far greater than my Inferno, American Fenders and my Gibson SG. This is one of the finest guitars on the market.

  • dude, you are soooooo lucky. congrats on your medusa. some people have all the luck. I love the fretboard on yours, would you mind posting the details..if you dont mind. I agree with you grumpy, every minarik I have played sounds sweet, the sustain is always better then the other guitars I a/b them with.

P.S. I saw you video, you have a good voice, keep it up

  • Thank you for your kind words. To my knowledge, they're all very similar, but each of them is different. The do have a different ratio on the tuners, making fine-tuning much easier. I sport the Pharaoh's Curse neck, which is the only significant difference. Claudio's white Medusa has an incredible "battle of good and evil" neck on it. I was a skeptic, but they made me a believer. Minarik guitars are quite versatile, fast guitars with a unique sonic signature.

  • just curious as to how you got one? no offence, but are you exceedingly famous? haha, i'm not much into new bands, i guess.

  • I'm a Minarik artist.

  • oh, well, i must say, very good job, i love the designs on them, and i'm sure the tone/sound matches.

  • GrumpyCameron is my music teacher

he is an amazing guitar player

  • Cameron!

you took the words right outta my mouth...

his friend may have had ANOTHER Minarik shape but not a Medusa because as you mentioned, there are ONLY 4 in existence as of now......

Love all your vids btw! youre rocking that oo2 Medusa :)

  • wow i would like to see the battle of good and evil.....that sounds cool..i still like your's though....-nic....one of yur students haha

  • i wish i came across these before claudio sanchez. if i got one now id just feel like i was copying him. it sounds so beautiful though...

  • the binding is sooooo freakin cool

  • GREAT JOB Paul! THANKS!
