Well we already know Rhys Ifans is playing the lizard but it would've been really cool to see him play someone like Mysterio. Maybe he could've even played Kraven the hunter.

the villains that were in Toby's spiderman movies will not be in the reboot. because they are continuing with the villain that was meant to be in spiderman 4, which is Lizard.according to the story of the reboot,the last movies of spiderman with Toby did in fact take place.so they're not repeating any of the villains that died.plus, it would piss all the fans off if they did that.Venom is a possibility for a later movie though,because he cannot die that easy.and sandman is possible too.

Why would any of you guys even think that Carnage would be in this reboot? Carnage was never even considered for Spiderman 4 first of all.he was just a rumor people.Really, you need to get the facts right.Lizard is actually going to be in this movie because he was what everybody wanted to see for Spiderman 4.so yes, they're starting off the reboot where they left off for Spiderman 4.But it's not a continuation.because all the fans wanted lizard in spiderman 4,they're starting it off with him

@ShredderJr87, no actually, they're not putting in any of the green goblins because the reboot is kinda of a prequel to Toby's movies.All the villains that were in Toby's movies did actually take place according to the story of the reboot.So the osborne's actually won't be in any of the future spiderman movies. Sandman is possible to be in any of the later remakes because he didn't die in spiderman 3.And yes, Carnage did actually come after Venom did .So he's possible for a later movie.

@jspark3219 I don't think it's a prequal cause Toby Mcguire was a wimp before the fist Sam Raimi movie so that would be kinda boring, or pretty cool. Idk, but I'm pretty sure they'll have the other villains. It's a reboot, not a prequal. They're doing the whole thing over, sadly. :(

@ShredderJr87, actually, no they're not doing the whole thing over again.it's not actually a prequel,but it kinda is because they are not putting in any of the same villains that spiderman faced in Toby's movies. look it up.also, they're not going to show him getting bitten by the spider either because they're starting off the movie where he already has his powers.so yeah, it kinda is a prequel,but not exactly.if you google it, you'll find it.

According to Marc Webb in a recent interview the character has a warm side. Well, that knocks out about 95% of them. Since Gwen Stacey has a major roll and it is confirmed college years with Garfield possibly Jackal. If they start from AS #1..Chameleon. Being 3D Electro is the better choice and would tie to the Avengers. I read all the villain bio's and tried to find a "warm" side. These were possible fits but who knows how the story is written if it follows the comics at all?
