Steve Jobs: one of the hardest things when you're trying to effect change... is that... people like this gentleman... are right!
What I expected:
Steve Jobs: one of the hardest things when you're trying to effect change... is that... people like this gentleman... are fucking retarded! Get the fuck outta here you douchebag I got shit to invent, not answer you're douche questions!
guy: “Mr. Jobs, you’re a bright and influential man.”
steve: “here it comes”
guy: “Thad and Clair that add several counts you’ve discussed that you don’t know what you’re talking about.
(pause)
guy: ” I would like, for example, for you to express in clear terms how say Java, and any of its incarnations addresses the ideas embodied in OpenDOC. And when you’re finished with that, perhaps you can tell us what you personally have been doing for the past 7 years”
Very well handled indeed. From 1:20 onwards, we understand why Steve was on the stage and the other "intelligent gentleman" was in the audience - probably still churning out "brilliant" code that nobody cares about. I was not particularly a fan or Mr Jobs (RIP), but one has to acknowledge brilliance when one comes across it.
