What we should ask is, who should be the narrator? Man or woman? Will it be a character from the game? I think it's best to not have dialogue for narration.

Mog would work perfectly. In fact... he's the de facto narrator after the raft/Ultros scene, and when things need to be explained he comes to narrate/explain (one of the occasions it's an imp, but I'm pretty sure it's still Mog).

it was rereleased on ps1. then on GBA. an ya, the story ain't bad. except the part with Terra and the kids was a little too cheezey for me to digest.

I appreciate the fact that you want to both remain true to the original game and give credit to the original creators, but considering you have the opening spiel about the history of the setting, then HIGHLY overenthusiastic Vicks and Wedge, and then the opening credits? That's just a bit much to ask us to deal with.
