the only reason the parents couldnt do it quick and painlessly is because they were REQUIRED to do it in the manner stated. but alex was supposed to be drowned for his sacrifice, so even if holloway killed him it would still be all screwed up.

Theres an unlockable costume for Alex in the drowned ending.I beat it and it's the disguise you use to get past the pipes(just after pyramidhead appears in the second to last level)I just thought it was it and I was right!

At the very beginning of the game,when you get wheeled down the hall by the orderly,you see all the hostel things happen and you see the kids being killed.One is the mayors son,who is dropped down a hole.

You don't see them buried.You just see as you're being pushed by the last door(after the strangling one)a guy holding someone over his shoulder and dropping them and you hear a scream before the guy turns to the door.Check it out in the first level,probably on youtube.

i saw the seen again and i saw the kid getting thrown into the pit. jeez...why would the kid just let his dad bury him alive? also, why didn't the parents just shoot their kids to make their deaths fast?

Hollaway says it has to be by the parents own hand,so probably they could only do things like an actual sacrifice ie dismemberment,strangulation.I know the kid was dropped headfirst into the pit after bartlett knocked him out and put in a sack(mentioned in a letter in a hotel "Seen mayor bartlett dragging a bag to the greenhouse") and thats why the first boss has the meat "Sacks" around him.

oh wow....jeez thats fucking sick. well, bartlett could've at least slit his throat or quickly cut off his head in a sacrificial manner before burying him. that way his kid wouldn't have to be cramped in a small area with the weight of pounds of dirt on top and having to suffocate to death in the dark. fucking hell thats suck a nasty way to die i cant get over it. well, anyways, sepulcher is the second creepiest boss in my opinion. scarlet it the first, amnion the third, and asphixia last.

First playthrough I missed my guns after getting out of the chair after drilling holloway and only had that handgun.I died so many times against amnion.I don't really understand what its supposed to mean though,in terms of symbolism(like the rest of the monsters)like,sepulcher is the sack monster,scarlet is a doll,symbol of being dismembered and the body parts being dolls limbs and asphyxia a nod to being stangled/suffocated.

i think cuz amnion looks pregnant, i think it's a symbol of josh's mom keeping him "safe" inside her womb, but literally trying to kill Alex both when u fight her and in the past for the sacrifice, but in the end, alex lives, while josh, who was supposed to be protected in the womb, dies. i dunno, but since all the other monsters symoblized the sacrifices, i think this one must symbolize the screw-up with alex's sacrifice.

When I was playing the game I didn't expect it to go from SH to Hostel in a blink of an eye haha. That was intense. I still don't know how Alex was able to walk after that.
