this documentary is also propaganda, it's an old documentary and about gaining support for USA helping China to fight Japan. Everything has a middle path, and this first part isn't showing it. The CPC is also constantly brainwashing Chinese with their one-way information, it's a shame. 可惜当年国民党不争气，把外蒙丢了，为了争取美苏的援助，居然承认了外蒙独立，而中共掌权之后，中国积贫积弱，外蒙已经收不回来了，到底还是中国人自己不争气，看着这些历史就让人心里堵得荒，好在现在中国已经重新变得强大了起来，连美国人也不敢打我们了，我想中国统一的日子也不会太远了，也许用不了二十年。

3:15 當時西方看中國的觀點，分為"中國本部"+四個外圍邊疆地區(滿州、蒙古、新疆、西藏，當時台灣是大日本帝國的"外地"領土。)，所以日後爭議就在這出現。
由於此種有爭議性的觀點，可能對於中國領土範圍在解讀上有不同的認知，這是合情合理。(而我想這就是"中華民國憲法"，要放進一條"邊疆地區"的理由)
這也是為什麼中共這麼想要急著收回台灣，除了戰略價值和政治意義之外，中共也認為，能收回台灣，中華民國就可以把它掃進"歷史的灰燼"中。這是中共最大的心病，和心底深層的對於"台獨"的恐懼。
因為中共心底認為，如果不能"收回"台灣，就無法在歷史上完全取代中華民國。但今天中共想要"收回"台灣，但是他們卻沒膽要回"更有理由要回"的外蒙古。因此即便中共真能"收回"台灣，但他也取代不掉中華民國在歷史上的地位。

Iris Chang's The Rape of Nanking carries the same kinds of photos of Japanese atrocities. However, the soldier wears a turned-down-collared uniform, which no Japanese soldier wore at that time, so the man is not a Japanese soldier.
