The original Enterprise model didn't have strings dumbass. It was too big. The model stood on a steel pole covered in blue to match the blue screen behind. This doesn't even matter anymore as the special effects have been updated to CGI in HD.

Also TNG sucked overall. It had maybe 5 really great episodes and 20 good episodes that weren't boring. All out of 7 long, long, loooong seasons. Old bald Patrick Steward wasn't a good action hero, although sometimes interesting to watch
