  • If it was only that easy...

  • What happens to the blood that is flowing in the carotid artery? Is it bypassed or clamped?? And does this interfere with the blood supply to the relative side of the brain? How long does it take to restore the normal blood supply?

  • @streamr89 the surgeon can either use a shunt, or clamp both ends of the artery temporarily for the procedure, Remember the carotid occurs on the right and left side, so you still have the opposite side to supply blood to head and neck.
