  • This reminds me of Fallout...

  • Weapons like this kept fat old politicians on BOTH sides of the Iron Curtain from EVEN THINKING about starting a third world war!

  • "The most difficult problem that must be solved."

The problem was never solved they just waited till it would wind up somewhere else.

  • Yea; let's all give them thanks for literally vaporizing that island, dumping shitloads of radiation onto our planet, causing radiation poisoning in fifteen people and for bringing us to the brink of nuclear catastrophe.....

    Idiot warhawks.

  • y cnt ppl have regular war anymore? i mean the russians have the fucken tsar bomb and if they decide 2 use it then were fucked!! but the us shuld build an even powerful 1...just in case

  • other than ww2, we have had all regular wars. So what is the point of your question?

  • what's the point of it? minimizing the posibility of any organism surviving a nuclear war? And, two American bombs will do as well. Or one. Actually, dropping a single handgrenade in Moskov would be enough for some real angry people.

  • given the physical size of the tsar bomb, its easier and more cost effective to use several smaller bombs over a wider area.

  • and thats how the cold war started ... the end

  • STUPID YANKIES

  • @GATTY22

if the we're so dumb then why are we the most politically, militarily, and economically dominant nation on the planet? and it's YANKEE not yankie if you're going to insult us at least do it right

  • ok, YANKEE. HA HA HA HA.

  • they put out tens of thousands of instruments to gauge survivability in the even of a nuclear attack. i can tell you the survivability- low.

  • wow the 50's were wierd and full of puns, turn-on-dime headlines and all the narraitors sounded the same, lol

  • they can make this terrifying invention sound happyish my gosh...this kinda creepy lol

  • i wonder what that big hole in the ozone is from...

  • not from nuke tests that's for sure. perhaps you've forgotten that the sun is basically a giant sustained nuclear reaction?

  • when we all finish blowing each other up with nukes it wont be humans or planet of the apes it will be cockroaches and scorpions that rule the world MUAHAHAHAHAHAH

  • Damn straight we need a soulution for that fall out. By the way, you can't tell me everyone that witnessed this bomb is alive today. Infact I doubt one sing person is alive.

  • the guy who dropped it is still alive

  • you should give thanks to those men

  • Here's a solution: DON'T FUCKING DROP RADIOACTIVE BOMBS IN THE FIRST PLACE!

Fuck war, fuck politics, fuck greed, fuck corruption, fuck all that shit... Basically FUCK HUMANITY! Let's all bomb eachother, yeah, great idea!

Here's my thanks: Thank you men for being sheep and taking orders from total douchebags that want nothing more than to destroy another country for their own personal vendetta or agenda. Thank you for the greed and corruption, but most of all, thanks for also being douches.

  • yawn...wouldnt it be nice if the world was

Mr. Rogers Neighborhood...forget that wouldnt it be nice if the world resembled your vacuous little American suburb filled with

    happy idealistic thoughts and tolerance.

BUT IT ISNT TIMMY..and out there in that big bad awful real world they see people like you as one thing only..A SUCKER.

  • "Come on junior, drink your milk... it makes babies big and strong. And what a big baby you are!"

  • Japan agreed to surrender after Nagasaki(also Soviet attack), but it was mostly the personal cowardice of Hirohito that changed Jap policy. internal talk of surrender is meaningless, noone gives a damn if they "might" give up. Ketsu-Go was a good plan for defense against non-nuclear foes; also China might have lost 30 million to starvation if the war went on another year, not to mention maybe 1M US casualties, 6 M Jap dead at least, also Russian, British, et al

  • free xpresion on national tv...oh sori iam 50 years bhind....this is the site 4 ur 3 xpresion ..here...pls dont wait..post it...thats ur 3xpresion ..off course

  • Yes sacb0t it was and still is great! I can think of few situations since the the end of WWII we should have used it again against our enemies. To much political correctness in recent years, but times are changing...

SnowAlpineBunny - yes, it was a B-52 that collided with a KC-135 tanker, no the 4 1MT bombs did not explode, but 1 did release plutonium (the one that was recovered 2200 ft. under water).

  • Is there any more info on this? I can't find anything online.

  • didnt the B-53 carring H bombs over spain collide with a refueling aircraft and but fortunately the H bombs didnt explode ?

  • this is the american's propaganda video at that time..during the cold war to intimidate the fucking soviet union..

  • FUCK AMERICA! it must be so funny to build a bomb which will kill millions of civilians in action.

  • If the U.S. hadn't gotten to the bomb first, some other country would have. Nazi Germany was working on it until the day Hitler shot himself. Who would you rather won that war, my German friend?

  • The fact that both A-bombs were dropped AFTER the Japs aurrenderd. The Yanks commited an atomic holocaust ;)

  • Partly true. I maintain that victory could have been won with an offshore display of force, if indeed the Japanese needed further convincing that their war was over. Frankly, conventional weapons could have ended hostilities in little more than a year or so, but an atmospheric explosion at a safe distance from population centers would have been all that was necessary to attain immediate surrender. At a time when America might have shown its mercy, Truman chose instead an age of fear.

  • None of that would even be considered, let alone even possible...your logic is absolutely wrong.

  • Get your facts straight. The US dropped 2 atomic bombs on Japan. Then Japan surrendered. It saved an estimated 1 million American lives if we had invaded mainland Japan.

  • Kabulkid's right. Before the bomb, however, there were exchanges INSIDE the Japanese government that indicated surrender was a possibility. The conditions for accepting the terms of that surrender required that the imperial government remain in place, which was not in line with U.S. interests. Still, we could've broken the emperor with offshore blasts.

  • more brits who dont read up on their history, whens the last time you read a history book? japan surrendered on august 10, 1945 the bombs were dropped on august 6th & 9th so i dont where you're getting your facts from, & dont try to tell me tha tthey wanted to surrender, the negotiating was done with russia and then they declared war on japan so it was invasion or atom bomb

  • "british scientists made vital contributions to bomb design and were involved right up to the final stages, it was a professor from Imperial College, London who calculated the optimum height for the detonation of the bombs over Japan. Nor, for diplomatic reasons, did Perrin mention that Churchill had initialled a memo, which was transmitted to the Americans, giving Britain's authorisation for the weapons to be used." OpenDemocracy "Britian & the Atom Bomb" look up the website online,

  • then maybe you & the rest of the brits who think u had nothing to do with the bomb & simply blame everything on the US will realize the UK was helping build the bomb from start to finish...why dont you make yourself some tea & crumpets & think about that one

  • nobody eats tea and crumpets in the uk ffs.

that's like thinking americans all sit around camp fires eating beans and farting along with their horses.

  • well, maybe some old grandma type people might still...and most americans do just sit around camp fires eating beans and farting...but te campfire is now a tv, the beans have become junkfood, and the horse has become the SUV...

  • No No No. We dropped the bombs and THEN they surrendered!! Wouldn't you??

  • yes, this is in fact the sole reason.

  • this is how cancer became such a big killer, thank you uncle sam!

  • Yes because if i get cancer i will sue america and not the soviet union who is estimated to have realease 100 times more radiation into earth. Or china who dumps chemicals and other random shit into rivers, not radioactive but still not good. Or my family history.
