While we all know her the world over as "Doctor G" (going by her surname of Garavaglia), I wonder how many others refer to her as "Doctor J" (because her first name is Jan)?

I'd say the whole "Doctor G" thing is so people do not confuse her with Julius Erving, a male basketball player who is known professionally as "Doctor J."

The idea that I like the most about this program is that sometimes we don´t take care of our bodies as we should. I am more aware about high blood pressure and the like. Definitely I prefer watching the program at the distance than participating in it.

dr. g is great! I wish I could have had her to examine the death of my husband! It was said he did from a hemorrage but while in er he began gagging and they couldn't clear his lungs because the ventilator competely stop working. It was a total wild and the nurse was arguin with the doctor because the doctor wanted a cat scan but the nurse said"no we cant clear him"! Then her coworkers told her she better go ahead and take him. We my husband came  back he wasn't respondent at all.

@FMLdoodez The people are dead already; it doesn't really matter what you use to cut open the rib cage. Using an instrument you have trouble with would probably be less safe and you'd be more likely to cut yourself.

I admire and appreciate Dr G for everything she does. I seen her documentaries on Discover Investigations and I really like. Dr. G. programs help me with medical infomratii of last generation.I am interested, because I have many health problems which I try to understand them with medical documentaries. wow i saw this program and another which name i can't remember when i was in the hospital from feb 23 to thru 26 or 27 and the 1st show i saw from this program was a show where a guy was diagnosed or misdiagnosed with a blood clot which was the reason i was in the hospital and when i started to hear about "blood clot" in the program i was like "would you stop saying the word blood clot" because it was like the 10th or 20th time i heard about it in 1 day. since then i want to watch it but i cant.

After a body is "dismantled", it is incinerated most of the time. Sometimes if a unique anomaly is found, it goes for further observation and study.

I don't know what happens to the body after that - heliobacter20 is probably right about incineration (although families might also just regular burial sans cremation).
