  • what is all the debate about her "looking like a mess?" How on earth can one tell that from this video- it's a blurry image of her singing on stage, and how anyone can say she 'looks like a mess'is beyond me. She's dressed simply in jeans and a jacket, and from what little I can make out she looks pretty youthful if she's close to seventy. I've seen closeups of her in other vids and she looks healthy and fine, fit and vibrant. What are we comparing her to, Brittany Spears? Reality check..

  • She is so cool. Thanks for posting this!

  • Buffy Sainte-Marie, this WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL lady has given me decades of sheer joy with her music, her outlook, her vibrant personality. So glad to see her perform live at Wulfrun Hall, Wolverhampton, UK on Sunday night! The experience has been an amazing start to 2010. Meegwetch, Buffy!

  • Gee that's funny my birth certificate says 32 who new.Moron.She looks horrible

  • Buddy, you have some issues, not the least of which is your potty training. If you are 32 and still dispensing this venon, what a poisoned life you've had. Your parents must be predators, not parents. Moreover, learn to spell and punctuate.

  • @cbrun67176 You say your 32 & yet you spell new which means something recent;

I imagine you meant knew like some knowlege which obviously you do not have. You need to get some education. Then maybe you could appreciate this beautiful,

vibrant, beautiful woman. You are a sorry ass excuse for a human. ZEBO 1896

  • lol she looks a mess

  • Wait what you look like when you are her age, at least she is alive, Janis did not make it.

  • She is such a treasure. I've listend to her music sence my teens and I'm 58. she has inspired me then and now. It's amazing how much spirit she has and has give us all. I'd love to see her live someday.

  • At 8 pm Sunday night I am priviledged to see Buffy in concert at our 400 seat community theater. I'm excited!!

  • i've been to every stan rogers love em all

  • Hear the great recorded version of this: "Cho Cho Fire" from Buffy's "Running for the Drum" released July 2009. Yep- I reckon she IS 70- that's the CREE inside her!- go Buffy go!!

  • "Cho Cho FIre" and "No No Keshagesh" --I can't wait for my "Runnig for the Drum," which will be alongside my Buffy albums, cds, and even my old 8-tracks when I couldn't get anything else. I must have a little Cree in me, too! Buffy's the "rock and roll dancer" still. She gave me chills when I was 16, and she still does. Lyrics, mixed with the chants and rhythms strumming the universe, healing it. I'm 52 now, and I hope 70 finds me as "young" as BSM--or is that TNT?

  • Inspite of her great talent & success, she never forgets who she i s~~~ She must inspire a great many first nations young people,~& not to forget we older folk with her energy~~~~I first heard her on radio back in 1963 & got goose bumps when she sang her "Universal Soldier"! & have followed her career ever since then!~Please come back to Comox Valley on beautiful Vancouver Island soon Buffy!

  • I swear, I think she's 70. Cannot tell by looking at her. Absolutely amazing young woman.

  • she was born in 1941 shes 68.

  • She's So great! I cry!

  • YOU TUBE is BUFFY SAINTE MARIE HEAVEN!!! May we always keep the fire!

    Buffy is the ageless warrior!

Buffy, you inspire me at my young age of 59.

  • Good deal, Kid. I'm 52 and getting younger. I was just in Berlin on New Year's Day for Beethoven's 9th Symphony, and loved it. Buffy does it for me, too. In "pow wow" rock, wow is the operative word. Rock on, Sweet Little Vera (Buffy)!

  • Pow-wow Rock?

    Wow! I like that!

    Pow! As in POWerful!

Buffy is the best--has the most integrity of any performer I know.

She's got talent, commitment, brains, beauty and courage!

She's the most youthful music elder I know. I will be 60 this year and Buffy (about 67) gives me hope!

  • Great music, AND STILL A BABE!

  • Listening to this video takes you right back down/up to our ground of being--a Dionyian ecstasy without cruelty. ONENESS

  • Thank you! I've loved her since my youth when I bought 'It's My Way' and was hooked on her magic, may she continue to weave her beautiful spell!!!Love you BuffyxxxoooBriar

  • Isn't she magnificent?! Had it not been for Buffy Sainte-Marie, the first real singer I loved, I don't think I could have made it through my teen years in a small town inimical to individualism. I will be buying this CD. I recently purchased her album, Buffy, which finally made it to CD format. I was 17 when this came out, and I've loved her since the early 1970s.

  • Hi! I tried to copy Buffy's guitar style and got into trouble with the modal tunings...ho ho. Do you love her 'lesser songs' ie: 'Guess Who I Saw In Paris', 'Poppies','Till I See You Again' and I'm always looking for new vintage footage...she's guest starred on so many shows you'd think there was something out there. Take care, Briar

  • Greetings. I know all these songs you mentioned, the first two being of the earliest I've heard. "Poppies": I tippy toe across your dreams each night, so as not to wake you..." More faves: "Keeper of the Fire," "Codine," "Sir Patrick Spens," "Jewels of Honalei," Mister Can't You See, Moonshot, tons more. Best luck on the guitar. I don't play, but you sound on top of it. Cheers!

  • love all those you both listed too but not so much Sir Patrick Spens, Til I See You Again or Poppies. I absolutely love Generation and Star Boy. He Lived Alone in Town my fave off her first album. Moonshot (especially Native North American Child) ahhh classic!

  • Buffy's new CD (which comes with a DVD!) is incredible. She is a super nice woman whose many gifts continue to inspire, educate and celebrate our proud First Nations people all across North America. Meegwetch Nia:Weh Buffy

  • agree with all comments. buffy you make me cry. just listened to "indigo" again. that song just gets me. their tongues are silver forks. you can hear it on their breath

  • She is just as powerful as she was when she first started. Incredible. Mark

  • Gah! I can't freakin' wait for her new album!

  • vivement le prochain album !!!

    Thierry

  • Seeing Buffy at this event, I had no idea what to expect. I had not heard much of her since the early 1970s. In a word WOW! Her workshop at the festival left me spellbound, as she performed her ballad, "My Country Tis of Thy People You're Dying". Her "Universal Soldier" remains a battle cry for the peace movement. And besides all of the above accolades this woman can rock!

  • I was a teen when I heard "MCTTPYD" and its lyrics/prohecy infused my angst-ridden years with the desire for a consciousness my surroundings wouldn't allow--small town, smaller minds (not really mean). "Hands on our hearts, we salute you your victory, choke on your blue, white, and scarlet hypocrisy." All aspects of this life have been heightened by Buffy and her music.

  • She is incredible...Come to UK Buffy please

  • WOW. Wonderful, can't wait for her new album 'Running For The Drum' to be released.
