Get serious people! The electric motor is good, but the batteries run out fast! The recharging time is incomparable with a gas fill time! Also the batteries are heavy! Right, you don't pay for electricity and gas, but how about time? How about range? I agree with some solar panels at home, but the electric car is not yet a substitute for the old petrol! An I do prefer making smoke and noise on the road, not driving a bigger toy, with me fitted in!

@Samyaza69 The recharge time for our oil supply is millions of years. With an electric, your range may be more limited, but it is full every morning, and the majority of people drive only a few miles a day. Get real. Batteries are heavy, but if you think that Tesla is undrivable because of that, you're deluded.

How much time does your car actually spend in the garage doing nothing? You'll find its plenty to charge your car. Your thought processes are a bit limited here.

Congrats on a great video Mike. Good luck with your documentary. How did you come up with the <3 year payoff time? We are driving a solar-powered (3.4kV system) Leaf and it also has great acceleration, though not as amazing as your Tesla of course. I don't know what it is about us men, but we never seem to grow out of our love for gadgets :D The Tesla is one amazingly engineered machine. I remember when I was a kid loving the idea of having an electric car . Who knows Mike, maybe there'll soon be some kind of special deal where you can put $500/month downpayments on a Tesla if you install solar panels on your roof.
