  • I'm starting to learn this song!!! Its gonna be a while...but totally worth it!!!

  • I learnt this piece and it took me about a month to get good and a couple more to master. You did well you had a good tempo and played it fairly evenly wich is hard to do

  • i think it is a recital because the turkish march of misimilano ferati is same background and same piano.. am i correct?

  • ur so great!!

  • I love your use of the pedal and dynamics.

But try to polish the middle part (Part C) better.

    Amazing, though.

  • Just love it

  • that is way too fast and im learning it now

  • You are very talented :) I hope you still play... this video reminds me of the time I used to play that song and be talented as well, but now I can't play to save my life hahaha Nice work !

  • @padfootandprongs13 same here, us FTW

  • You're very talented . The scales in this piece is what gets me but you've nailed the technical part. The excellent tempo and dynamics adds to the perfection of your performance .

    Bravo (:

  • i think it's too fast.

  • @sparklestar96 no in fact its a touch slow

  • I learned this piece in less than a week, and it's so much fun to play!!!! I can go slightly faster than you, but you did very well with this piece. ;)

  • well done.

  • Well, it probably took a couple of months of me just playing around with it off and on, and then I had a two day piano training session that I focused on this piece prior to the recital. It is definitely a great piece, and very rewarding to play!

  • Great piece. I just started learning it. How long did it take you to master?

  • @padfootandprongs13 Same here! Lmao

My piano recitals at Shepherd University in WV however

  • This song brings back memories...one of the hardest pieces I've ever learned how to play back in my elementary days.

  • so fast man if you make it a bit slower i think it will be amazing cause your a good player on piano goodluck :)

  • the intro is amazing!

  • Man, I gotta learn how to play this faster.

  • Very good :)

  • im surprised you did this at a universitie because its not very hard

  • @lentplanet I'm surprised you're critiquing this with your apparently inability to spell. This pianist is very talented!

  • @ImmortalVampiricGirl I accidently spelled a word wrong. and im really sorry if i offended you :( i really didnt mean to offend anyone im sorry

  • @ImmortalVampiricGirl and also i wasnt critizing her. i thought she was an amazing piano player its just that this song isnt really a college song. its more sohighschool i think but the piano player was very talented.

  • @lentplanet Just guessing but I think it's a guy... "vampireboy"

Maybe he started piano in college? Or late high school? And he's just doing a piano minor or something?

  • @ImmortalVampiricGirl yea probaly and your right hes a guy. Whoops.

  • I give you five stars because your passion shines through. However, those people who have comments like "wow your in college? I'm younger than you and I can play this" just know that playing the piano is not about being able to place a certain composition at a certain age. It is about loving the instrument, and the passion and joy you get from playing it. Not being "only 13" and playing a hard piece that a 19 or 20 year old is just learning.

  • In my opinion, it was played a little fast, but anyway, you played it perfectly... Good Job :]

  • i started learning this like 3 months ago still learning it

i've been playing for about 1 and a half years

  • perfect!

  • woahh, you're playing more than just well! I really love it.

How long have you played the piano so far? and how many years do you take to play this song?

  • You play very well. but the tempo was quite fast. starting the piece in mysterioso sounds more haunting, but beautiful at the same time, no need for pounding it in the beginning. But in all you are pretty good. (Just don't do it too fast) :D

  • im kind of surprised. you said you played this at your university recital? wow. im 13 and im already playing this.

  • @mikalah415

So? I bet you can play Traumerei too; does it surprise you that Horowitz played it in recitals?

  • oh my gosh! you are astounding at piano and i just love your hair!

  • nicely played, this was the first full time project piece i ever learned after i started piano 10 years ago, love it. i missed hearing it so i looked it up and decided to watch this one, definitely the right choice. thanks for putting it up =]

  • I personally think it is a little too fast....i know that the dance is something that they said wassomething to be done as fast as humanly possible but the tempo is not humanly.......drive a notch slower and it would be much better.....

And the musical part, maybe a little bit more musical....don't forget to voice and carry the top notes.

  • i personally think this tempo's fine

i've heard it played exaggeratedly(in tempo, dynamics and pauses) this seems just fine to me. like.

  • @MALBGM that's actually the video i was talkin about

  • It's definitely a good job, but too fast. Even though the music says Presto, one must remember that its a Tarantella... a dance. No one can dance that fast.

The fact that you can play it that fast, however, is exceptional. Great job.

  • Your like, the epitome of awesomeness...but seriously, that was something special...

  • I love the speed and the dynamics

  • sorry but I don't like the music to be played that fast but I liked the capability of that guy to play fast! good job!

  • I love the speed 8D it really is meant to be played fast so that it sounds majestic. I think you need to feel your notes more. Sure you follow the dynamics and all but to bring out the piece, feel the notes 8D

  • Insane! Bravo!

  • i don't think it's too fast. i reckon this is really gd.i mean, it's meant to b played as fast as possible

  • Very good performance, my only comment, if anything, would be on the slow section. Try to bring out the melody even more, keeping the rest very quite. Play a sort of duet with the melody and the left hand. Another comment on the main melody when the E is played quickly many times. You might find it easier to play it sort of rotating fingers 5-2, rather than with one which can noticably slow you down. Over all a great performance, fantastic, with very good phrasing. congratulations.

  • well.. i dont write too much english, aja...i think its a very good piece, my best friend play this song too, but more slowly... its some hard and romantic the midle its good... try to play piano like touch you re girl...with love no angry... i ll like to se many others videos of your performence. :)

  • It's a great performance. But I like it more slowly. I'm practicing Fantasy in D minor.

    Good job!!

  • Great performance!!!

At the start when it goes to the resoluto you should've made like an obvious pause or something to add the element of surprise...Still FANTASTIC!!!

  • whats ur name

  • awesome!

  • Oh hello! I am a young musician, I am 11 just turned 12. My piano teacher gave me this a week ago and I've got 3/4 of the song learned. I am amazed how fast you are playing it. Perhaps, someday I can be as fast. Well, when I do get this song mastered, I will try to put it on youtube. Do you know how to get a video from video camera / camcorder to the computer. Whenever I try to get a video from camcorder/video camera to computer, the computer doesn't recognize the machine. Do you have any tips?

  • Little too fast at the beginning and end. The middle is good. This comes with some authority as my grandfather was taught by Pieczonka.

    Very nice.

  • tempo presto= this

  • I'm getting ready to play this for my recital on sunday. This is really amazing, probably 100 times better than I can play it.

    And faster!

  • soo well played!!!

  • It is a southern Italian folk dance; I believe when people got bitten by tarentullas, they thought they could rid themselves of the poison by dancing very quickly, hence the quick tempo of the genre.

  • @vampireboy1875 correct

  • What is the meaning of "Tarantella?"^^ Reply please~

  • your mother xD Jk Jk...

  • II believe the title means "Dance of the spider".

  • The word comes from the italian town Taranto

  • great!!!! I love it!

  • WOW OMG that was amazing 5 stars :)

  • and yeah, fast, but very normal fingers! cool, man

  • wow...fast...

  • I think its meant to be played slower XP

  • WOW.........

  • sooo fast @-) i play it much slower than this :|

  • omg is this the real way you play this piece?? @__@ i thought it was much slower than this x-X

  • Hey if I could play it this fast

    I would too

It still has emotion in it

I kind of like the speed

  • Beautiful. I'm playing this piece right now, but I'm not that fast :D

How long did it take you to get it that fast?

  • This is amazing. My brother is currently learning this song. and after hearing your awesome playing, I think I would want to learn this piece too. You're super fast, and so cool.

  • wow! so fast!!! I still can't play it like that ...you're amazing!!

  • NICE!

  • sounds much nicer when it's that fast

  • to fast, but i like it..

  • its supposed to be presto....thats how it was made

  • you di GREAT I love the tempo you had going though it had a few problems, the only real noticable thing was when you fumbled around messure 97 but even that was barely noticable.

  • beyond expression

  • you look so elegant dear vampyr

  • WOW, very very nicely played! i hope i will be able to play like you

  • OMFG! i lyk the tempo... Anyway.. i'm also a FILIPINO... highschool.. studying in School 4d arts in ILOILO (Iloilo NAtional High School -School of the ARTS) i lyk the video :D i can't do that.. maybe my classmayt can... i havent yet master that piece :D

  • Awesome. I played this for a rectial but I wasn't as good. Great Job.

  • Jealous | | | | v v v v

  • Hey,

I am a graduate at the University of Santo Tomas conservatory of music in the country of the Philippines. I am a pianist too in fact one of the best ,but I think you are too fast I can be that fast too ,but you should not run. Don't think of these as an insult because you did play very well and I also think you are one of the best in the world.

Vampireboy1875 are you the pianist here?

  • hey...are you also a filipino??? I'm also a pianist..though i learned only from self-eduation and private tutorial? How's you study in santo tomas? Have you conducted concerts here in the philippines??hehe

  • Oh yes! ,but at the UP and CCP only.

  • whoa this is awesome! You know, I'm trying this piece (since I hear my sister plays it a lot of time :P) I wish I can be as good as you!

  • Great playing! Well done!

When I first played this in my Yr 12 Music class 3 years ago, I played it at around the same speed as yours. My teacher then told me off for playing too fast, to which I pointed out that it's Presto. She then said that it's presto, not insane speed.

    Grr -__- dodgy teacher...

  • i'm a level 1 pianist who quit (i guess that doesn't make me a pianist hahah) but recently i tried picking up piano again as a hobby and i'm going to aim for Taratella a level 1 playing a level 4 song how does that sound? ^-^ i wonder how many months it's going to take me to perfect it lol!!

You're my idol =) i loved how you play the song and this video is gonna be my permenant reference thanks!!

  • Hello! Well, thank you for your kind words. I think that you will be able to perfect it. It truly is not that difficult of a piece, but it just requires alot of practice to get it up to tempo. I am sure though, that you will be able to grasp it! Just remember to alwaya play with passion. I hope that you will post a video of you playing!

  • @lurvxforevahmorh (just a question) I play piano to.... although I'm a lot younger than you; hint: I'm younger than 14... Um, I'm practicing that same song. I looked it up to know that I'm playing right. IS THAT REALLY HOW FAST IT IS!? Or are you just taking advantage of how good you are at playing?

  • wonderful tempo. i was like WHOA at first cuz i thought it was too fast but i checked my book and it's presto so your speed is just rite.

  • I likd ur playing man!jst wndering- were the tempi at which you prfrmed the those set by the composer? Or did you, as interpreter of the music, decide to go faster than prescribed? That's your privilege of course. Still, I suspect that perhaps the beauty of Pieczonka's piece would come out much more, if, just for example the first few measures were played just a little slower to bring out the wonderful descending bass. How about taping another performance at a slightly slower pace?

  • omgoshness! thats friggen fast!

  • That was awesome!!!

    5 stars

If I could play this piece like you in my piano recital this tomorrow, I wouldn't have to be scared about making a fool of myself on stage.

    Y.Y

  • whoa, how do you get it that fast?!?! o_o my arms would be killing me by the end of that piece. I love this performance! 5 stars! Awesome job!

  • u have to practice a part with good fingering slow first, then each day get a little bit faster. dont play fast immeadietly. it helps to take away little mistakes that u have. hope it helps.

  • You play wonderful, i loved it after i heard you playing it, good luck!

  • dude that was AWESOME!!! i have to play that for a recital this may!!!

    wish me luck!!!

  • I love it! You are quite talented.

  • Why is it being played so fast during the slow part? Were you being timed?

  • great timing

  • Good to see someone uploading this unfamiliar repertoire. I recall playing a piece by Pieczonka in a concert a few years ago, but I have never till now seen a performance by anyone else. Well done!

  • Thank you very much! I think that he is wonderful and very creative with his music!

  • Super, great timing.
