what I did was I used two dusk balls and then an ultra ball but just in case you might want to save the game right next to the pokemon cos it's pretty useful info in case you accidentally kill it.

Just gotta say Lugia was the EASIEST legendary to catch. All it took was paralyze, red health, and to top it off just one dusk ball. I was half asleep when I did it too and couldn't believe I caught it so easily XD

just a fun fact, but if you kill ANY legendary besides suicine, you can revive them by defeating the elite four. or at leaset thats what i think. And you can get almost every legendary except palkia and dialga and giratina i think.

1.) Yes you can catch Ho Oh and Lugia in both versions of the game, in Heart Gold you get Ho Oh on level 45 and Lugia on level 70. This is then reversed in Soul Silver.

2.) You can only carry six Pokemon with you at a time, but can have hundreds in your PC box

But in heartgold u must unlock lugia just as u did ho-oh. go to pewter city in kanto if you havent. there is a man soemwhere (i forget who so talk to everyone) and he will give you silver wing. Now you have unlocked lugia! then go to the start of this video and folllow it throughly. i recommend buying a lot of net and dusk balls (you can get them at the safari zone gate). also get a lot of hyper potions and revives...
