Al Jazeera is the gold standard in real international news. Their coverage of the Middle East, East Asia and Africa is the best on Earth, and they have intelligent reporters like David Frost and Riz Khan. (For the record, I'm an American of European and Native heritage.)

Yes, Al Jazeera English is a valuable resource and personally one of my absolute favorite sources for news in the world. I have heard some very intelligent commentary on Al Jazeera English. I have sent news articles to Al Jazeera English comfortably. The establishment of mutual trust and fearlessly shared information is the most blameless and wise step we can take.

The three purposes of media are to: inform, entertain or persuade. Usually the media has a slant, either some degree of left or right wing.

Al Jazeera is not champinging the values of the West, its aimed at English speakers, who predominately live in the West.

This may give you a different prespective, but it wont be the 'truth'. You have to analyze what is being told to you, realize that the person telling has some agenda to push.

I think Al Jazeera is pretty biased. But I also think that NBC; FOX; and even PBS and the BBC are biased.

I think everyone needs to see the different sides, and that includes Al Jazeera. It is always good to have more sources to form better opinions. People will see the Al Jazeera broadcasts, and they'll decide for themselves what parts to believe and what to disbelieve.
