  • @Jonny89718 oh, sweet. Umm, I got one more question. Have you ever like listened to your beat, and as your listening the part of your sample would just go away, more like a quick pause, but would come back again.

  • So ill. Kinda sounds like you've been listening to some trip hop too. [sighs] some people have no idea what they miss when they refuse to sample other artists. They might as well be a straight-edge rastafarian

  • the mpc500 is so much more underrated it's not the machine but the man behind the music notes .creating the flow the vibe like the brake dancers

  • that beat is fire .

  • thanks to you and all the mpc500 user on you tube i got to learn allot about my mpc500 i bought the e book working on the mpc500 the best way i see to learn this unique machine is to play practice with it everyone has something new to show but the hands on is more vital i bought my beat machine three years ago going into four and still feel a bit of knowledge, but johny 8917 you are the man it can be done, using a 500 without a 1000 or xl or 5000 i think the 500 hAS endless possibility's

  • God damn that beat is awsome :)

  • this is the 4th person I've seen use this, and every one is getting something different from it and it sounds great to me no matter what they are doing......so far

  • Do you need a mixer to help you sample from vinyl? Or can you just sample it right into the mpc?

  • Can you speed up or slow down a sample without affecting the pitch?

  • nigga! lol this hot i was thinkin bout gettin an mpc500 probably will now nice vid

  • holy shit dude!!!! im not sure what to do, the 500 or the 1000? help?

  • their the same theirs just no waveform on the 500 plus ya got that jj os on the 1000 but i love my 500 and ya cant beat choping in numbers , but the mpc500 is going take time too lern ,you might get mad wiv it at the start , you may not use it for mths on end but you will allways come bac too it and once ya lern how ya use this mashine you will love it sleep wiv it take it everywhere wiv ya

  • correct ! shit i need that lil baby :D haha

  • what song did you sample?!?!!?!? plzz tell

  • i could spit sumthn nice 2 this beat..nice bro

  • shit is real smooth g.

  • Dope, I love it ! :D

    From France ;)

  • is the mpc500 easy to get samples onto, and is it easy to learn how to use?

  • @iswearshes18

    yes and yes

  • Damn how much was that

  • that sounds nice son...dope

  • so where's the bass line come from?

  • @purexpression i composed it using the 12 lvl feature

  • @Jonny89718 u used the 12 lvl on what though?

  • @Jonny89718

Really nice beat! What do u mean by 12 lvl feature?

  • HOTTTT!!!!!

  • So, do you have to chop up all the samples with computer software THEN put them on the memory card as seperate wav files? this beat is dope as fuck by the way. Cheers

  • @JousterinJudge

You can do it in the computer if you want, but i chop everything inside the mpc

  • @Jonny89718 and how do you go about doing that? cheers

  • all those beats are built into the machine?

  • @RudeboyUT

No its a sampler, it has no sounds. You sample your own drums and whatever else you want to make your beats with.

  • tyte

  • yo son i rock a 2000 classic.. haha its easy to hate on the MPC 500 cuz it looks like a toy and when u look at most beats coming out of them look around youtube..

but GODDAMN bro! you've proven the cardinal rule of beatmaking - it aint what u use its the man behind the machine

    NICE.

  • @goredsox1792

thx homie. I used to have a 1000, i cant wait to have another in my hands.

  • sickkkkkkk

  • sick one :)

  • rawdogg taob to icecube

  • soooo dope! sick man, good job with this beat!

  • question: im trying to set up my turntable, mixer, monitors and mpc. Im new to this so far i had my vinyls playing perfectly fine. i just received my mpc so how would i go connecting it? =) thank you

  • @SalWhizzle your gonna need to go from the outs of the mixer to the ins on the mpc to sample

  • nice beat man...whats that mixer you got there?

  • @MrBostonBeatdown a shitty one lol

  • yo is thee 500,good as the 1000?soundwise?

  • @cstylewit1 id say the 1000 is better sounding overall

  • is your mpc 500 can powered by ac adaptor?

  • @rawdogg yes

  • TOOTSIE ROLL

  • @xhowaboutnoway word!

  • how do you structure your beats?

  • @killerluck i sequence them using the built in sequencer

  • dope work , im buyin one soon like 2 weeks lol

  • feel that!! you made me buy a mpc 500...you're an inspiration, man!

  • @Briskflow thx man

  • how long did it take you to get to know working on mpc 500?

  • @grgson1 3 minutes. I also use a 1000 so it was easy

  • @Jonny89718 na ya lieing about 3 mins more like about 3 years ,ive had mine for like 4 years and im still finding new stuff out about it now that little box is no joke , they say it mpc500 is the mpc2000 mini version just less ins and outs , ,but this is wat i do sometimes , make 8 bar loop or a few , then throw them in too cubase 5 autochop chop the loops wat ive done .. cubase 5 does that well and then put them in too groove agent and you will have a midi file and and enuff outs

  • took me 3 years still stuff hidden that im still lerning ,things about step edit ,i love choping on it i dont no any sorfware wat can chop like it ,,once ya get use to choping in numbers thats , sometimes i just chop things up uts for the joy of it

  • ab 1:16 ... (Y) :-*

  • Loving the old school feel to it man.

  • i hav a question sorry

yea when u buy an mpc does it come with all the chords and stuff u need 2 connect it to speakers and stuff????

  • @skullcandy332 nah u need to buy the cables seperate

  • gud beat

  • respect breh, this beat is fire real smooth

  • what do you set your sample levels to etc.... btw is it all MONO or POLY.

  • great vid!

i have question-how did you made bassline?

  • @dante337 i have some sampled simple bass tones that i filter using the low pass filter. Then i put the mpc in 12 levels mode and do the bass line.

  • @Jonny89718 ok how do you put the mpc500 into 12 levels mode??? cuz that is what im missing...basslines are the hardest thing for me right now, which is funny because i play the bass guitar for years xD oh and come check out some of the amateur cuts i've been making on my channel. peace and ILL beat.

  • I dig man...How long did it take you to learn to use this? I'm thinkin about getting one of these. :)

  • @chunkyostrich Well i had a mpc 1000 before this so there wasnt much to learn.

But if i was starting fresh with the 500 it wouldn't take long at all. All you need to do is keep playing with it till you figure the shit out. And read the manual if anything confuses you. mpc-forums is a great place to go aswell.

  • @Jonny89718 Interesting...I hear a lot a people say the 1000 is much better than the 500...So you like the 500? Also...Say you've uploaded a sample to it..and make your beat. Can The sample you just made stay in the mpc for ease of access? Or do you have to get it from a pc or somewhere else every time? Sorry if it's a dumb question...I've never even touched an mpc...haha!!! ...:\ I just love beats.

    1 bank 9 samples

2nd bank another 9 diff samples

  • Ok dude I have a question! Im thinking about getting one of these, But I havent seen a good tutorial movie about how to put samplings in the Mpc 500. Im thinking of using my computer to you know get parts from songs and putting them on the tabs. but like if I want a part that have drums on it can I remove or "mute" the drums somehow, And how do you put in like your own drums, like snare and kick and such. Like can you download "samplings" and such. Like really oldschool hiphop drums and such?
