  • Wooo Play this driving in the back country with all the windows open, Yep

  • 7 ppl are out of they mind!

  • Great sound...real simple!!!

  • sorry to say i didn't like this.. lost his touch

  • Adorei essa ao vivo show!

  • Essa música é demais...e o Christopher não tem o que falar talento nato, ele canta como se falasse! Voz suave como o vento!

  • i don't like this version. bad sound also!

  • Christopher heeft de baard in de keel gekregen ! Maar zijn muziek blijft toch nog steeds geweldigggggg !

  • ... Michael's voice is noticeably absent ...

  • Esta version es totalmente diferente a la version original. Ya la voz de C.C. esta carente de potencialidad. La desconozco.

  • never heard of this guy till i seen this show. next day i bought the cd... cant get enough! and im into way diff types music.

  • He has lost his voice a bit with age. However this was great music in a time when it was about the music and not the physical appearance or hot bodies or dancing moves. He was just awesome .

  • His music never gets old , I still hear these songs and enjoy them.

  • I worked in a Motorcycle shop in Dallas in 1995. He brought two of his waverunners in for service and just hung out with us for awhile asking questions. Genuinely classy guy.

  • 2-B, 2-B FREEEE AGAAAAAIN...

  • versione assolutamente mille volte piu' bella rispetto a quella originale anni 80, caro Christopher io te adoro, e nonostante la voce non sia piu' quella di una volta riesci comunque a dargli un sapore....

  • Nothing like a Taylor geetars.

  • For a good two year stretch that guy was a pure hit machine. He would clean up the Grammy Awards with multipl

  • this is better than his late 90's stuff at least

  • His voice aint what it used to be but hell, it still sounds good.

  • still an all great song even then was played in the bars i went to !!

  • Long live the D!!!!!!!!

Does Jack Black know that Kyle is out touring without him?

  • He sounds just as good as he used to! Thumbs up to you, Christopher! And BOO to all those sour people who think you should curl up and die once you get older!

  • Another case of the formerly great performers trying to reprise thier careers. Doesn't work. Very few age well and keep the pipes. Really sad attempt. I'd rather keep the memory of his distinct young voice and look.

  • @seekermichael007 If he came to my town, I would attend the show. He may just love to tour and play with the band. Age can't be helped and to be in the room of someone who did something special and listen for awhile would be worth the trip.

  • @seekermichael007: His voice is similar, yet it isn't the same.. Still a classy guy though! :D

  • @seekermichae l007 dont know reprise his careers 30years later still sound good

cant anybody do what they do 25-35 years later can you

  • kinda looks like kyle gass

  • This song is soo amazing- just Love it xD

  • amazing, as good as ever

  • Why he eat to much hamburgers??????????????

  • excellent!! excellent!!

  • i listen to this song when i'm driving around the countryside...feeling the wind...yeah...

  • He sounds FANTASTIC! Usually when dudes get older (Billy Joel, McCartney) they can't get the notes they used to.

I can't believe he wasn't able to do more. What an accomplished musician. Not to mention a GREAT song to dance to!

  • @NewYawkahBroad Joel still hits them, search for a recent version of An Innocent Man live.

  • he sounds better then ever!! 2 thumbs up!

  • He is so young looking i put it down to enjoying his work, he clearly does after all these years keep going Christopher cross

  • damn I love this song!

  • Cross is getting better with age. His voice is stronger than ever. Crazy.

  • I just have to add that drummer is just amazing. Who is he. He knows how to play to loud mix and is VERY aware of it. All these guys are doing tasteful things sparsely. Very aware of the volume and control is just amazing. I wouldn't be surprised if these guys turnout a new hit .

  • This....is some classy shit....man.....These guys are are fucking good. This is what I like to see (and hear); that studio magic right before your very eyes. Those guys are some real players.

  • I've never heard this version before. His voice sounds different, I even think if am not mistaken, he lowered the song's key.

  • @1minidisco This is done in the original key.

  • he's clearly a doctor/fugative...:)

  • His voice sounds a little tired but he deserves many cudos for making the effort to do the song in the original key. Most of the 70s & 80s tenors (Peter Cetera for one) now sing their songs two or three keys lower than the original recordings.

  • Noch schöner als das Original!

  • Bien por Christopher despues se tanto sigue!!

  • Re Bueno!!!!

  • Wow! Christopher has still got that wonderful voice , great tight band .

    Dave

  • he still has it in him!!!

  • good band

  • haha :D

  • I'm not a Doctor but I played one on TV and I dig this song.

    The Double Fake Marcus Welby

  • How is this song helping you to be a doctor?

  • I think here I've found my soulmate !!

    I am a doctor too !!

  • a miilion times better compare to new artists now ! its not tiring and you will never be bored with christopher crossssssssssss !

  • Great Live video and great audio quality

  • I like him and his voice

  • i love christopher cross and i love this song, but folks, what's wrong with your ears? he sings horribly, no power, no feeling, bad intonation, sorry..

  • @SonandoSounds

His voice sounds a little weaker here, but his voice still has a signature sound. Let's not forget the man is about 60 years old.

  • Sadly bands like this are ALL gone.

  • @scrumdownscott

Perhaps the bands like this are gone, but there music will last FOREVER and EVER ....... like the wind....

  • so true. all these newer bands seem to care about is out- ghettoing eachother

  • @scrumdownscott Some of us musicans that where around in the 70's and 80's are trying to keep the music alive while still playing. To bad the kids today don't pick up a instrument and make music, but instead use a beat/drum machine and rap about useless crap.

Hey Rap and Crap rhymed...I could be a rapper now!!........................NOT, I love music too much to do that! :)

  • @marinesnip Ah we're not all like that old timer, some of us are still working away trying to make decent music like this!! :-)

  • @jiffijaffi Cool....It just when we had a couple of gig's, the owner of the bar told us that some of the young kids told them that they have never seen people play instruments before. The music is still there, but not at the fore front as it was back in the 80's. If you play an instrument and make music, keep it up and good luck.

PS, I am not that old!

  • @marinesnip why the massive generalization about no one picking up an instrument anymore? thats completely absurd.

  • @scrumdownscott What a stupidly ignorant thing to say.

  • It is very rare to see a full band with purist musicians who write, read and play. they may not have the PR or model faces, but surely bands like this, are key to provide us with everlasting numbers like this that we can enjoy forever!

  • one of the best voices of all times

  • Good version, but the voice, the voice is not the same. He's a great singer.

  • His voice still sounds awesome.

  • I remember when this came out in 1980. As others have commented, Christopher Cross has kept his voice in good shape. This version in this video was well done.

  • Randseed2.. no one cares about your career as a doctor... in plus how does this song even relate? "half way to mexico with a gun in my hand" ...wtf

  • @droseispro Perhaps the sheer harmonic progression i.e. panic stricken, the repeated non functioning chord progression which builds tension, and sheer orchestration (of the original) is enough to bring out determination in the face of death which is certainly bound to occur in such a profession as a doctor? It certainly inspires me.

  • @droseispro he runs like the wind when the patient has found out that he fucked him up xD

  • zeitlos und wertvoll !!

  • Christopher Cross continues to be an inspiration for me. "Ride Like the Wind" is a song that will follow me through my career as a doctor.

  • I actually think his voice is pretty much the same as it was many years ago....this song and sailing still give me shivers down my spine after so many years, good God...I was 10 when they came out and they still sound like they were released y'day, they really are timeless.

  • This musician knew very early in his life he would be doing this at the prime of his life..what more could one ask for hes seen the world over many times been on stage with the best of the best ..plays a gig full of nice people here and there, has fans all over .One could bump into him in the grocery line and not realize who he is.and if you tube gets to crowded he can always go sailing. A true great American story.

  • best sound version of the track!

  • Yacht Rock!

  • he will be on Jimmy Fallon this monday! Yacht Rock Party!!

  • for godness sake what happend to is marvelous, unique voice??? hes he sick?

  • Well, for one thing, this song, "Ride Like the Wind" came out in 1980....29 years ago. I guess peoples voices change. Also, he is singing live...many people sound a little different from the origianl radio version. He still sounds good to me. Christopher Cross always sounds good...he has a very unique voice.

  • cool version...((the day of my bee day...eh eh eh...I was in the States))

  • fantastico , still loves this song

    ricardo

  • a lo bestia esta cancion!!! pasan los años y suena mejor!!!

  • nearly 20 yrs on and still sounds great

  • Sounds even better.

  • the dadada dat section is out of tune, but other than that its good.

  • That's because Michael McDonald isn't there to back him up on the "dadada dats".

  • Nice to hear this version. I was just listening to a cover and thought it would be cool to hear the original. :)

  • Superb! How Genius is this Man! Love love LOVE this song!

  • He needed Rick Moranis - I mean Michael McDonald - to back him up here.

  • Love it! Wouldn't been something if Moranis came in at the last second to do his "Such a long way to goooooo!"

  • Incredible song.....greets from Turkey!

  • grandiosa melodia Christopher C. ... Buenza¡¡¡

  • This guy is all talent!

  • Amo el ritmo de esta canción. Gracias por compartirla con los usuarios.

    Magdalena

  • i love this song man!! first time I heard it was on Dickie Roberts Former Child Star

  • me too! haha i fell in love with it.

  • lol me too.

  • The daddy mac will make ya jump jump.

  • I just noticed... His name is Criss Cross... Chris Cross...

  • Mr. Cross is one of the most under-rated artists of our time. This man is a genius!

  • agree with you

  • very goooooooooood, mutcho bueno, muito bom excelent, excelent musico. aqui no brasil, conhemos bem ele , ele é muito bom. não dá pra esquecer.

  • Wow, nice job. It's very hard to hide when you're the only one singing a softer version of a song that was much 'bigger' when it was released. I just listened to versions in 1986 and 1998 before this one. No problem at all with his voice here. He has lost little if anything at all. Listen carefully to the way he used his voice earlier - it's more or less the same. He is still crystal clear on top and they haven't changed the key for this. He was just never going to blow anyone over with power.

  • Wow. People are being pretty rough on him. His voice sounds fine to me. Sure, he doesn't have anywhere near the breath control as when he was young, but he didn't stink up the joint either. I love the arrangement, and enjoyed the performance.

He would benefit greatly by adding some backup singers, though.

  • I L-O-V-E this song! We are playing it in band at school and it's awesome! Such a cool song!

  • who are the player sax??

  • A GREAT song and a GREAT artist, but he's 60 now and he has been out of the music business forever. If Bruce Springsteen took that much time off and then went back to singing he would sound the exact same way. It was tough listening to this, but at 2:18 when his voice cracked, and again at 2:30, I really felt for him. Where is Michael McD to bail him out....?

  • Not even McDonald, "the greatest backup vocalist of all-time", could bail him out of this mess. I unfortunately purchased tickets to see Cross in the mid-2000's after not having seen him for a few years and it was pretty bad. Not as bad as this, but still awful.

  • Ahaha what a tubbster...

  • Costanza!

  • He didnt lost his voice for the gods shake but his technique is kinda different without vocal support (important) and he is singing with a different breath technique more simplistic like he is bored... also, he is almost 60 now..do no forget that. His breath management is more limited now

  • It's true that he lost his voice in a way. It's still a great songwriter.

  • Hitler would also sort out people like you who spam youtube videos.

  • You mean "like" like him? :D

  • Faut aimer !

ça change de la version classique avec michael mcdonald

  • He has lost it...:( He used to be good but now he can hardly hold a note.. which is sad because he really used to be amazing.

  • What the hell are you talking about? This was a great performance!

  • I agree, unfortunately. The great run into this wall, some sooner than later. Billy Joel, Elton, R. Plant, Dylan, etc. It sucks b/c you hear the music, which never gets weak since it's studied, but some songs you hear the vocals and you feel for the vocals. He's got amazing songs though, I treasure those.

  • haha queer.

  • Why am I a queer, cause I'm like everyone that enjoys music and makes a connection to the song? Nub.

  • i like this version better than the michael mind one my fav is the one played at the meltdown in middlesbrough the propper dance one!!!

  • Try the Ride like the wind - Michael Mind (Klaas Remix)

    crazy how music evolves :)

  • wow, his voice hasn't changed at all. Pretty good stuff

  • love it

  • Bravooooooo!!!!

  • He does look and sound awesome after all these years! God bless him! I only wish Ric Flair... I mean Michael McDonald made a surprise with a trademark "Such a long way to goooooo!". Thanks!

  • LMFAO

  • hahahahaha

  • I've got to ride, ride like the wind

    TO BE FREE AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    -awsome man XD

  • C.C. Running like the wind by sailing with Laura!!

  • Such a distinctive voice which has held up well these 30 years.

  • Just Wonderful

  • It's interesting. This song works well as lite rock and up-tempo jazz. I like it.

  • la grande classe monsieur cross

  • not bad but the original is MUCH better and energetic

  • This is simply over the top.

  • incredible great track

    i love this "remix"

  • Wow ... I think this style is an excellent new direction for C/C ... this sounds really refreshing, modern and sophisticated.

    Keep up the good work

    A+ all the way ...

  • i like this part "to make it to the border of mexico.."

  • Oh phew, I thought I was the only one :D

  • hehehe :)
