This happened to me! I was using the same tomcat traps, I come back and check it the next day, and the trap is gone, still don't know where it could have went.
Tomcat "Rodent Feeders" are useless junk, I've NEVER seen one actually trip!!! I've sat quietly & watched mice actually stand bodily on the trip plate & leisurely eat the bait. The rat traps are just as useless. Get Victor traps, they actually WORK!
@dltvmd I switched to sticky traps. Sorta humane as they have an anesthetic, gives them time to spread the word to their little mouse buddies to stay the hell away from my house. :)
OH MY GOD! I have that exact brand of mousetrap (got mine from Pathmark) and I'm having the exact same problem. I used peanut butter for bait on two traps. Twice now, ON EACH TRAP, the mouse has eaten ALL of the bait off the trap without tripping it. I've been looking for suggestions on how to solve the problem and I've got a few ideas. I'm going to try bending the tip of the bar that fits under the bait platform to try and make the trap more sensitive and then GLUE a peanut to the platform.

TOMCAT mouse traps are JUNK , better eat the money than buy Tomcat shit, I Mouse stole bait 2 times from 2 of Tomcats baits.
