No matter what, 62 or 65 or 67... My bet is there wont be enough money given to people to actually retire properly, taking into account all the things needed to bring you to your last days. In CA, we barely have enough to take care of our elderly unless they have 200000 in the bank... A thing that will NEVER happen to us because we will likely need to dig in our funds before retirering.
i cant wait till americans wake up and take to the streets because i have nothing better to do but sit at home no job, no money for school, no money to support myself while I go to school...what else am i supposed to do...arnt you tired people? lets do somthing about it...i may not have the brightest idead what but im sure as hell with the person who does...aint no power like the power of the people!

@XxXmizzshottaXxX the only "benefit" i reaped was losing my job. you obviously have been short-changed yourself--not by the robber barons and the system that protects them but rather by the process of evolution.
i worked hard so people like you could collect a welfare cheque every couple of weeks. you should be more thankful and whatever monetary benefits you happened to have reaped ought to have been spent on education, not at McD's and liquor stores, you illiterate, uncouth, clown.
@socijaldemokrata ok.....nothing you said in that comment even remotely made sense or pertained to either my life or my comment. We fight to keep our social rights. We paid all our life of worker to get that "privilege". And there is solutions! but our Gov. does not want to negotiate.
@MyPowerfulMusic ooh..so after all you were not talkin about productivity you actually meant worked hours per worker?? I do get the whole welfare state thing, as I'm from Holland & we're dealing with the same situation, only we don't bitch & complain bc we actually realise how the economy works, that we have benefited from the economic bubble &now that it's burst & we're in crisis, everybody has to lower their expectations or it'll only get worse. You can't keep spending money that's not there.
@XxXmizzshottaXxX "everybody has to lower their expectations" Is this really how you wanna live ? By giving all the time, giving every little thing you have to a wealthy, disgusting and opportunistic government ?
62 is the minimum age, but almost everyone would keep on working a few years after that. My Dad works in construction, and seriously, I can't see him doing that til he's 65. He just won't be able. And that's what French people are fighting for.
@VaniochkaTwitter what I meant was everybody has to lower their expectations is that there just isn't enough money to sustain our daily 'needs' so something's got to give. You can try to 'create' money out of thin air but we already tried that in the late 80's and 90's and look where we are now....in a financial crisis. I say all this bc I actually get the financial issues behind these concealed budget cuts and why if we don't take drastic measures thinks will get even worse
@VaniochkaTwitter oh and I already knew that the 60/62 thing is not a set age where ppl just collectively say...ok....I'm done...and idk the details of it, but I think Sarkozy actually had something worked out for people who were in proffessions where there's a lot of hard labour about being able to start working younger, but I guess that wouldn't help your dad...clearly your govt. has a lot of T's to cross and I's to dot before the implementation of this new bill, but it's a necessary measure

I really wish I did. What do you mean by general scheme? of the EU?? if possible can you send me some links as a priv msg where I can read about it later? bc You have sparked my curiosity now
@MyPowerfulMusic nvm on the general scheme thing I already know what you meant....you meant THEIR own....yh that is fucked up, especially considering how that WAS the plan for every other sector. I kinda understand how that must leave an extremely bitter taste in everybody's mouth. As for the rest of the bill I still think it's absolutely necessary to increase the pension age by two years. Imo it should be even more than that. But I do think NOBODY should be exempt that would make me mad too
@szrokkhmer same in Holland.....and having had experience with french people I can def confirm the lazy part, they're lazy bc they think they're entitled to shit. Only thing they're entitled to is a frogs ass lol
excellent work from the french collapse the whole country dont listen to the people criticizing they are just brainwashed sheeple with no guts that just gos along with anything that the goverment tells them this needs to happen in uk and us collapse the whole economy collapse the banks and remove the politicians
@oppressednation dismissing another side as 'sheeple' instead of actually countering their argument shows you to be an anti-intellectual nitwit who isn't really capable of thinking at all. you just want what you want and you will cry if you don't have it, like a baby.
@thinkfaster you are obviously a conservative who thinks money and proffit comes before people thats always wrong thats why the worlds going to shit so you lose on your basic beliefs and values .you are just another brainwashed person who was indoctrined into this socially backwards system difference between me and you is you took it all the bullshit and believed it where as i questioned it
@oppressednation It's clearly not obvious since I'm very liberal. The protesters don't want to smash the state, they want more with the same stability. They don't recognize the game theory concept of 'tragedy of the commons' which has been responsible for environmental plundering and failure of Greece. Socialism can work and when it does it's great, but there are limits on resources. Stop crying 'brainwashed sheeple' just because someone disagrees with you, you pompous self-righteous ass.
@thinkfaster so your blaming the people and if their are limits are resources why doesnt the west stop consuming more than their fair share especially that few % who has more than their fair share and i know the type of liberal u am your are as liberal as the uk coalition puppet goverment and typical of a yankee doodle dandy cant argue without abusing people.now go vote for your bullshit goverment as though ronald reagan and george bush was capable.u really all believe that shit nuff said
62??????? are you kidding me?????????? those frogs should count their lucky stars they even GET to retire at that age.....I mean seriously........at first I thought good for them, but then I heard they get to retire at 62!!! and they're not havin it??? I'm sorry, but that's just bs
@XxXmizzshottaXxX You missed the point. It looks like they are a little faster than people on the other side of the atlantic to react to early signs of gvmt oppression. So do the greeks. It's the principle. As the girls says, at 0:18, if you dont stop it now, they may see the reitrement age grow higher and higher 'till there is no more life but just work. A slave 100% for of your life as opposed to 90%
@iamufreak it didn't miss the point and I'm from Holland, so idk what other side of the atlantic you're talkin about. It's actually quite extraordinary that the french govt. is willing to spend so much money on people who are perfectly able to work. And in case you just crawled from underneath your comfy rock to type that comment: we're in a global financial crisis! Big one!! THAT's the point!!! yall need to stop bitching and be happy with what you got.
@iamufreak over here they just raised it from 65 to 67 and nobody went on strike. you know why??? bc we're actually appreciative of stuff that's just being HANDED to us. You don't have to work until you're 62 you know.....nobody's forcing you, you just won't get no money from the govt. (not a basic human right to receive a govt. provided pension either so yh) I get your overall point but the situation calls for this type of decision-making. It'll get better in time that way.
@XxXmizzshottaXxX LOL yeah keep on being a sheep and keep on working as long as your government tells you to. Remember some of the revolutions that happened THANKS TO the French people who went on the street to try and change something that seemed NORMAL at the time (like working til 62, maybe ?)
@VaniochkaTwitter you don't know what I know about the state the economy is in today, and I WANT to work as long as I can bc I know what's important in life, and that's not getting all roweled up if the govt decides to, very reasonably considering the financial crisis and how we all benefited financially from how that came to be for a loooong time AND also considering the fact that no other country in the world has it set to 60.
@VaniochkaTwitter I would actually understand if you had a problem with how Sarkozy chose to go about things and how it's extremely unfair that some (rich) people won't have to suffer the consequences as much as hardworking laborers, that I would get, but that's a different issue, although very intertwined with the raising of the retirement age. It must have been the final straw for a lot of people. THAT I get!!
@VaniochkaTwitter and no I am NOT thankful for anything pertaining to the French revolution bc yall actually went over to Holland and occupied MY country and made us lose a lot bc of that.
Seriously? I don't know if I'm jealous of the French or annoyed. The French government makes a reasonable decision to ONLY support retirees for 19 years, and the population is up in arms.
In America, the president could stab a political rival to death on live television while shooting a load on the Constitution and the most we'll do is make fun of him on SNL and call him "gay" to our Xbox live buddies.
France is in the grips of perpetual intifada and a never-ending leftist strike.
