I loved how Drummond powered up in the Ocean version. Superior to Sabat's one. I think it's because Sabat's has WAY too much background music diminishing the effect of the powerful vibe Vegeta gives off.

There is such a huge a difference between this version and the original edited version that came on Toonami (Vegeta - Brian Drummond) and this version (Vegeta - Chris Sabat). This intensity seems to have diminished in this version due to the background music playing so loud during most of the explosions and impact effects, in addition it's obvious that Sabat's "Power up" screams are a joke compared to Drummond's. But that's just how I feel.

A lot of the music has been added for this video specifically. That theme for Vegeta, for instance, first appears during the android saga. The song with the electric guitar that was playing during their fight is actually Super Buu's theme.

Still though, weird that they would do that.

This is what Vegeta should've done to Cell after he killed Trunks, and then do a final flash on him, and maybe even kill him! I hate how they let Gohan get so much undeserved strength. Vegeta should have killed Cell; after all, he badley wanted to kill Frieza, but he coulden't, and him killing Cell would be perfect in the story line!

@NakedMeleer Meh. Gohan had been hyped to shit through then entire series as having this ultimate hidden reserve of strength. The end of the Cell saga was the culmination of all that hype.  There was no way they could give the final kill to Vegeta story-wise.

Bottom line is though, if it weren't for Vegeta, Cell would have killed Gohan during their Kamehameha war. He was winning, you can't dispute that. That one blast from Vegeta gave Gohan the opening he would never have got otherwise.

@NakedMeleer But it also worked in the storyline for gohan to become a super sayian due to his wild anger all through the DBZ story it was anticipated for gohan to one day surpass everybody and he did hence Cell and then Vegeta got his shot becoming Majin so they gave everybody there day in the spotlight :)

In the beginning Goku even said he was way stronger then he was when he was a kid and gohan got his power awakened from Guru then Goku and Piccolo trained with him before the Androids and then it pushed him over the top in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber when Goku told him to think about frieza killing him and he went over the top!

weird, they use music from the Buu saga and the Cell saga (trunks themes) in this fight. The music starting at 5:05 is the super buu theme and the music at 4:23 is when trunks powers up to super trunks against cell.

@SharinganStare To answer your question, Ocean Group did the original DBZ english dub, the one we got used to growing up. Funimation took over sometime around 1998 or 1999. The better of the two, of course, is Funimation, but Ocean Group didn't stop dubbing DBZ because of that. If you look around you can find clips later on in the series dubbed by Ocean Group.
