  • it's more mindgaming , than a recovery , but you can confuse your enemy :P

  • Or you could just jump and still make it.

  • this video sucks

  • actually if you would have just jumped right from the begining you could have recovered. you werent launched that far

  • Thnx for showing us that! Plus I always play with Ness :D

  • one problem with this do not use this emediatly after being sent flying you should use a Nair first. becuase using it while sill under "unfreindly momentum" increases said momentum meaning that you are actualy increasing you likly hood of dying. using nair allows you to regain control of you character.

  • I usually ignore all comments on this video now since it's pretty old. Just like the one comment core34510 left. What you said about using nair first is correct. It's Ness' quickest aerial and with that he can momentum cancel with it. Unfortunately his PSI Magnet is nothing like Mr. Game & Watch's Bucket Braking.

  • Cool! Nice job!

  • it works just like fox's shine thing, but worse. It doesn't help you recover, just slows your fall. you could've jumped that distance without the magnet or pk thunder. This video would better be renamed as: A useful recovery mindgame.

  • wow its like your speaking from my mind XD

  • nice I didn´t know it thx ^^

  • cant touch this lol

  • Lol, Dryn's Samus. He's really good, gotta show him this vid.

  • I know him in person.

  • To reply to this video's description abou gimping Ness, the people who say this probably aren't very good with Ness. He's one of the more *difficult* characters to gimp due to his great arials and high, swervy second jump. Also, like you did in this video, his Psi Magnet is really good at faking opponants out, as long as you don't screw it up.

  • Faking out is right. Even Ness mains who do this fool me at times.

  • Yeah. As long as a character has more than one way of getting on stage, it makes them difficult to gimp. Samus has her grapple, Fox has his deflector that makes him descend slow and his Mirror Fox attack, Jiggly has her Pound, Peach has her float, Lucas has all kinds of different ways... As for the ones like Donkey Kong, now thereis an easily gimped character. DK, Link, Yoshi (sometimes). Plus, gimping Ness means running the risk of being killed by that PK Thunder recovery if you mess up. BOOM!

  • i main ness and i use this but only as a stal and i only do it once

  • That's good to know. There are actually more things you can do with the PSI Magnet. Sadly my camera broke, otherwise I'd upload it. :/

  • oh btw ness's down b has the same pushing afeccts as mario, squitles water. my bro was being jiggs and used down b by the edge so instead of hitting him and he recovering i just used down b next to him and he went off the stage and lost while still asleep

  • You were using Ness and the PSI Magnets wind effect pushed Jiggz off the cliff? I wish the PSI Magnet would push the enemy farther if they had higher damage.

  • yeah then if we use it the enemy would go flying of and lose but then it might be unfair cause mario, squitle's water doesnt work that way and ness's absorbs projectiles:(

  • Sweet tech.

  • its not that different from normally just jumping up, but it can set people off. Its sorta like fox's shine float

  • Exactly! Thank you for understanding! XD

  • will it work in brawl with lucas

  • It should. I use it when I play Lucas. Of course he's got PK Jump, wavebouncing, a Snake Rope and his PK Thunder makes him fly farther than Ness'. You can use it with Lucas, but I don't really see why you'd do that seeing Lucas has more options of returning. This is more of a stall like Fox's Reflector. But anyway, you can use this with Lucas.

  • uffe u made this lol cool

  • I've actually been using that for a while now, since I've been using Ness a lot more lately.

I'm pretty sure I picked it up from you though.

    >_>

  • That might be a possibility. I feel like I'm really the only one who ever uses this, though, because I never see any other Ness mains or players use this. I mean you could return without it, yes, but it's basically a stall which could be annoying to your opponents.

  • i had use this technique, but is a good tip for another players and fans of Mother series.

    Good discover for you!

    XD!!!

  • I'm not sure who discovered this first but I've tried it out after finding out about Fox's Refector stall that he has in Brawl. I tried this with Ness and looked past it and thought nothing of it. A friend brought it up on SWF and I've been using it for quite some time.

I have a video of myself using it and pushing a Lucas player away from me. Good stuff. Anyway again, I thought this would be useful to show since I haven't seen this on YouTube yet.

  • never used it before! Ill start now...thanks for the upload.

  • Yes! You must use this! :D Stalling saves people! XD

  • Uffe thanx for posting this, although, ive already incorporated this technique into my strategy. but it helps to see someone else use it.

    -Falcn/Koji

  • Yes, this is a pretty useful technique. It's nothing major, but it can save you as you return. I've been doing this for some time now and I see other Ness mains not doing this and it kind of bothers me. This has been discovered already, but I thought I'd be the first to make a video on it to show other Ness mains. Thanks for the comment.
