@Reznor13524 thanks for the wiki copypaste but I'm sorry, I didn't express myself the way I wanted to. I wanted to say that tigers aren't exactly bigger as a rule. =)

Or that's my opinion, as the Panthera tigris altaica is the biggest tiger and I found them not that much taller. So my guess is that the 4-5 (?) other subspecies are smaller, but I don't have experience with those. But you are definitely right for at least the largest part of the tiger population.
