  • Hoping so bad that HG reunite... This song blew me away when I first heard it years ago...

  • gah. I'm so pissed I found this band AFTER they broke up -_-

  • best part is that his voice is real

  • miss these guys. golden.

  • Wow he sings pretty high pitch. I wish Home Grown would get back together though. Matchbook Romance as well.

  • AHH why did you have to leave/split when you guys were making your best music?! King's of Pop was fantastic, When it All Goes Down was even better, and even the demos I heard on that last tour I saw you on like Temecula Sunrise were amazing. You all were really coming into your own as great songwriters.

Ha that's my rant, I just really miss your guys' music and what coulda been, but I hope you're doing well and glad to know you're still all good friends.

  • Where to begin. I don't often use this account, but this is Adam (Lohrbach) of Home Grown. I suppose it's better to hear from the source than to wonder and wander. So with 323 characters remaining, here goes..

This song was written at a pretty dark moment in my life. My girlfriend at the time (and now my wife) had left me and I was absolutely miserable. I didn't really think of the song at the time as a departure from "pop-punk " to "emo", but rather the only way I knew how to (cont.)

  • @iknowyoufeel express my grief. I was devastated at the time.

So fast forward a bit. I had left HG I think around 2004, needing to really get a grip on life and consider what really mattered. It was one of the most difficult decisions I have ever had to make. They were my best friends and I loved (and still do) them dearly. At the risk of sounding preachy (but I'll risk it) Jesus got a hold of my life and transformed it. I'm a work in progress, and I hurt alot of people in my past (cont.)

  • @iknowyoufeel but I'm not ashamed to admit I'm a Christian and Christ has made me a more godly man, husband, and father (still a work in progress mind you)

I have many fond memories with HG and I'm very grateful for everyone who made it such a special time in my life. Thank you. The rest of HG are remarkable guys of whom I still talk to and love dearly. They'll always be my brothas. (cont.)

  • @iknowyoufeel My aplogies for not responding to facebook/twitter/youtube inquiries. I rarely get times to be social on the net these days.

Again, thank you for all the fond memories that all of you helped make. It was quite an adventure..

  • @iknowyoufeel Thanks for all the great memories Adam.

You guys were great. I hope life is treating you well.

    Todd

  • @iknowyoufeel I read your comments when you first posted but never had a chance to comment on this at the time.

I just want to say thanks for the info and taking time to comment, there are still a lot of HG fans out there so its nice to hear from you and know you're doing well.

Thank you for all the great music over the years, il never stop listening.

I wish you well on any future project you plan to do, be it personally or musically.

Again, thank you & hope you have a great christmas.

  • @iknowyoufeel Probably was a bit harsh with my comment, heh. But yeah, thanks for replying. Still missing you guys. Found some unreleased demo's from the EP you were going to release, awesome stuff. Still listening daily to HG. 2011 comeback? :)

  • I whoudnt compare this guy to Tom. Tom is really bad at singing. Im a huge Blink Fan, saw them in August when they came to Boston. But Tom is not a good singer. This guy has a nice high range, accept for in that earlier CD they have that came out in the 90s. Vocals are horrible in that. Kings of Pop has some good vocals though

  • Adam's singing's always been good. John's used to be pretty rough but I think it was supposed to be like that...as you hear how he can sing here (backup vocals), and his singing on the Red Panda album is very good

  • loved that breakdown and solo, amazing song. Their last ep when it all comes down, was the best they ever made, and one of the best pop punk eps at that time

  • love this song, I'm kinda past the homegrown stage because im just now a senior but i love the emoness! he doesnt even wear skinnies and he can sing that high ha

  • great song

  • he sounds like a girl

  • gotta agree, even liking the song

  • i worked this show doing teleprompter (as this is my dads account and he did camera and got them to come down to the station) and adumb is pretty much gay. home grown definantly a band i listened to a great deal in high school

  • @Punxskaoc1 Why is he gay though? I saw him on facebook.. Tried to add him twice lol. You should seen it, he's some christian faggot nowadays. Nothing against religion, but that guy's a nut... Even quoting pieces of the bible and other random bullshit on Twitter..

  • @cheesefroggah It was my dumb son who said that,,, No Adam is not gay, he's starting a family and has gotten into religion. Nothing wrong with that, he was always the nicest person you'd ever meet.

  • I like it...^^

  • good song, have liked it for years, little emo, but whatever, its okay to sad sometimes. but kinda wish the singer would grow some balls so he doesn't sound like a girl. but meh, whatever.

no offense to those of you who like him. well... maybe a little... =)

  • His voice helps give the band a personality. It helps add to the band's style. Like Tom with Blink 182.

  • no, nothing like Tom from Blink. cause Tom is awesome, and the reason i started playing guitar lol. and Tom's not the only one who gives blink personality, Mark contributes to that as much as tom (not Travis though lol.)

but the guy in this band does his own thing and thats cool, just not my cup O' tea. =)

    cheers.

  • Doesn't he sound like tom from blink 182

  • @g02lumbun00b not at all, not fucking at all. you obviously dont listen to blink

  • Amazing Song!

  • I LOV THIS ONG!

  • why did adam leave?

  • to join new years day

and he eventually ended up leaving them

    i heard he settled down

  • dan hammond can suck my balls..adam was the one who made home grown, home grown

  • Damn I love these guys. Still listen to their songs.

  • Adam is currently not in any projects he settled down and got married

  • Is he not in New Years Day anymore?

  • nope. new years day is on a hiatus right now

  • definatley falsetto. it'd sound better if he'd belt it.

  • definatley falsetto. it'd sound better if he'd belt it.

  • adam is now on the band 'new years day'am i right?

  • Yeah, but he hasn't been playing live with them lately.

  • that other guy is the ex-guitarist from allister.. if no one noticed

  • No he's not, Its Dan Hammond

  • Hahahaha, no no no, all wrong. Oh so wrong. Dan was never in Allister.

  • adam is the fucking man. he defined punk rock. the end.

  • dude you're about 30 years off o_O

But as far as 'new wave punk' is concerned, Home Grown were definitely one of the best.

  • I think he is using his falsetto voice

  • Such a great band...

Does anyone know the real reason they split?

    X

  • Indefinite Hiatus

  • Can anyone Please tell Me where I can download "Thats Business" & "Act Your Age" for Free ?

    THANKS!

  • dude i will seed them soon

  • no one's gonna help you rip off a band, especially seeming as most of the people who watch this would be fans...

  • he never used to sound like that did he? hes the same guy who sang "disaster" and it sounds so different...

  • there is nothing even similar to homegrown

    sad but true

  • home growns amazing!

    Wheres the punk gone?

  • where can i find/download this song??? this one the accoustic. . .

  • nowhere that I'm aware of..

Johnee put it on their myspace but not for download

  • man, his voice is so thin.

    nevertheless, awesome song.

  • Nah his voice is perfect, I think it's really nice. Seems like I'm the only one though...

  • i agree with you

  • i saw this band in 95, at somas in sd. but lost the cassette

  • anybody know whre i can get accoustic tabs solo for this???

  • how come not much people know about these people?

  • i love it.but i like it better..unaccoustic

  • I think John is a better singer than Adam..You should check out his band Red Panda!

  • Red Panda's new album is better than homegrowns last two releases.

  • Definately

  • im sad.... let us all remember the sublime Home Grown for the 2002/03 Kings of Pop era happy, fun, dont give a fuck pop punk genius. You were fucking awesome

  • where can i download your song(cross my heart acoustic)?

  • its a good song..but why does he sound like a girl..

  • was that how long ago this was?

  • This was recorded February 2005

  • After 11 years as a band they were trying something different. You have to grow as a band and not keep putting the same shit out year after year. How many times can you put out a song like "Surfer Girl"? The first time I heard this song I was like WTF but it grows on you, so its different. Adam left the band a little over a month latter.

  • His voice is fuck*d up but Home Grown rocks

  • he sounds like a girl...HA

  • that's perfect for a song like this.

  • was a great band....are a fucking great band i tell you all now go out and but there album from you nearest HMV or there site you will love it... ROCK ON!!!!

  • Kick ass video, and Home Grown was a great band.

  • rofl helium grown

  • man. his voice is really high. really high.

  • excellent video
