  • even this lo-fi version does something to me.

  • Thanks for posting this! I love this music!

  • Matter of fact this is the last thing im gonna play before i go to bed!

  • Closing theme was PERFECT for ending the evening and going to bed.

  • LOOOOVE that theme.

  • Great writing that is gone fore ever!

  • Gotta love that font. :-)

  • oh how i remember this. just a kid then

  • @diane6135 Same here... my parents use to watch it.

  • @lonedove1981 Used to watch it with my mom. One of my all time favorite shows.

  • @lonedove1981 We had some great TV back then, eh!

  • Every Thursday night as a freshman in high school, I waited for this wonderful series and the music to come on. I used to wonder why Paul Burke and his girlfriend never got married. That's when television and theme songs were so beautiful. Thanks for the travel down that lovely past.

  • @9876543217303 you're quite welcome.

  • @9876543217303 I watched this TV show on MeTV here in the Chicagoland area. Sterling Silliphant was a genius! Really well written show!

  • @gjohnsoningary I watch it too on MeTV. Indeed he did write some pretty deep episodes, particularly for that time period but nothing harmful for the young. : ) It was way ahead of it's time. I am so glad to connect to that theme song again. And Paul Burke! lol Have a great evening!

  • @9876543217303 Sterling Silliphant also was responsible for Route 66. I wasn't even born when Naked City went off the air(born February 1964). But this is testament to superb writing without a bunch of cursing. i love the theme music. It has a very hopeful sound.

  • @gjohnsoningary Yesterday I was on the Route 66 page and it occurred to me that Mr. Silliphant also did that. I always say that a new baby boomer such as myself came up when music and even theme music brought out the best in us. My youngest son is 23, in the military and loves some of the things I turn him on to. But life and music just changes but fortunately we have good music to look back on. I ignore 95% of music out there. Besides people aren't even writing meaningful music! Shame. : (

  • @9876543217303 Prince calls today's music "bubblegum music". It's meaningless and doesn't have the value that we grew up with.

  • @gjohnsoningary I can agree with that. I know I'm older and I can say that we had such a variety of performers. And these elite performers stayed in the music business, constantly singing and performing, not making a few so call smashes and then resting on their laurels and then making a BIG comeback. That is not reality. That's because the public now can be quite empty and don't even expect more. I have nieces and nephews born in the mid 60s and they agree too. Have a blessed day! :D

  • @9876543217303 It's such a shame; that somehow - the decision makers, have decided to seek the lowest common denominator, when they build their ideal psycho-graphic - for their target markets. So they figure that 'dumbing-down' the populace - facilitates their mercinary agenda.

Every time I see one of the old shows on here - especially the variety and JAZZ shows - I become frustrated ...,

  • @9876543217303 The premise of this show as was the movie is old cop young cop feel alright on a warm naked city night

  • @9876543217303 Same here. I was a adolescent - I used to sneak and stay up late - just to hear this incredible music! Thank you for this!!

  • @MegaASHENAFI Loved it as a kid myself. Glad you enjoyed.
