Nirvana made people turn their back (well for a little while) to the fake rock artist who were releasing the same song over and over again (ac/dc and the likes) and that makes them major influence on music in generall. But talking about Pavement in the same breath as Nirvana is stupid anyway. Totally different bands. People saying "teen spirit" sucks are the same people rocking to it before they Nirvana famous. But now, well, like then, hippsters are too cool for school, if you know what I mean.

Who gives a shit if Pitchfork likes it? I like Pitchfork (CRAZY, I KNOW), but I couldn't give a shit about where they rank music. They're Pavement fanboys anyway, so it figures that this is #1. They think that band pisses rainbows. What really matters here is that this is an awesome song, and whether you like Pitchfork or not, whoever likes this has good taste.
