  • The bonus video was awe inspiring!

  • Whats the best site to get all the oll and pll algorithms?

  • What is the best site to get all if the

    Oll and pll algorithms ???

  • @RVH253 definately his website! its better than it is in this vidoe and has good notes on each algo

  • lubricate? my cube es muy duro no gira completo seria bueno que me den un poco de lubricante para hacer q mi mi cubo sea mas rapido

  • hello badmephisto and thank you for upploading your videos because they are EXTREMLEY HELPFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my fastest time is around 15 sec and thnx to you!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i just cant recognise the cases of olls, any tips?

  • oll lol :P

  • did you learn all 57 of the oll?

  • 5:58 lol even easier, it's CLL R U' L' U R' U' L

  • ZBF2L- the batshit crazy version of partial edge control, but it always gives you the entire cross.

  • when they show u the top on the cube at the websites, should i hold the top up or should it facing me?

  • I know right now full pll and 27 oll but is it still a good idea to learn 2 look oll?

  • what cube do you think is the best out of corner cutting and lock ups and poping and turning

  • Do you know how the probability of each OLL is determined?

  • its so beastly how you solve with one hand at the beggining so fast

  • i went to your oll page, and i noticed that some of your oll have slice move ' M ', how you do the move actually? it's so hard for me, M2 and M' are easier to do than M. I tried to use my thumb, but i think it faster to do M3 as M lol

  • @oosit try using an index finger, hit the top back of the M slice (its slow, but dont get in the habbit of doing _3's =/

  • Hey, I don't know if you take suggestions for algorithms anymore, but for your Case #53, have you tried l U' R U (R' I') U2 (F R' F' R)? The R' L' part basically acts as a R2'. It's fast and doesn't have B or B'.

  • lol loved the dning thnx alot man!!! and if ure gd just for the sake of u being a gd teacher make tutorials for bigger cubes although i alrdy kno how to solve them but ppl wuld be happy!!!!!

  • hey man you know all of them?

    :O

  • 57 sounds a lot but there's a mirror case for nearly all cases so its around 26-ish which is only 5 more than PLL!

  • Exactly! I wish they were sorted out by shape instead of trigger. But than again, I rather just do the algorithm with my left hand then a whole different one.

  • I love all your videos! Thank you so much!

  • and ive only been using 2 look OLL and 2 look PLL and F2L for about 1 week, and i average 55 seconds, is that good?? and when do you suggest i use full oll and full pll

  • yes tht is good but using 2 look oll and 2 look pll i average 42 seconds. but i would suggest using full oll and pll

  • sub-60

MmM use a fridrich or Key hole

And use more oll (6 maybe)

    and pll (8, 10)

    my personal record: 25.03

  • I'm the same as you right now. I suggest that you Keep 2-look OLL and learn all PLL's. Once you average close to 20 seconds, you should learn all the OLL's.

  • I memorize all the PLL and I know about a third of all the OLLs. Solving the cube for sub-30s, I guess my f2l sucks.

    T_T

  • i doubt this. sorry. that fast in one week is more likely a lie than the truth. cheers.

  • oh, but i just have bad memory and its gonna be a pain to learn 57 OLL and 21 PLL

  • if you use 2 look PLL and 2 look OLL can you still get sub 30 seconds?

  • if you use beginners method you can sub30. You can even sub20. Its just that its much harder

  • @badmephisto

by beginners method you mean layer by layer mathod?

  • @badmephisto ya the beginers method is pretty fast but if you are fast

  • @badmephisto What is SUNE my English listening is not that great sorry

  • @iceymanjack That's the name of the algorithm: R, U, R', U, R, 2U, R'

  • no sorry but u can if u r very very fast

  • @SpeedStackinGuy96 i know this was a year ago but i use 4 look ll and i get sub 30s :P

  • great cube, I have to throw my storebought once for all, it's stopping me for getting sub-50

  • quality!

  • hi, when i do the 2 look OLL, sometimes when i get the straight line after doing my first look i have to do another third look to finish my OLL, e.g. I got the one sticker in the middle, then the line, and then the chameleon. im doing the algorithms correctly and i dont know what im doing wrong. i thought that it was a 2 look oll, not a 3 look?? please help!

  • well its because you are NOT doing it correctly. See again the case where you have no edges oriented. sigh

  • oh i see where i went wrong, it wasn't doing the 'f' right, i was only turning the one side instead of both.

  • @angelamaryan orient the edges then the corners and orient all of the edges in one algorithm and the corners in the other i hope this helps

  • What is OLL?

  • Orientation of the Last Layer

  • orientation last layer

  • what the algorithm for the 'non disoriening insert' again? other the R'FRF'

  • U R U' R'

  • im learning olls right now and i cant learn using triggers....

the way tht im learning is by patterns. first im learning the cases which have no edges oriented (which i hv done). next 2 adjacent edges oriented with NONE corners oriented. then the 2 edges and 1 corner oriented and then 2 edges and 2 corners.

    etc etc etc.

  • Your website isn't working :(

  • Is there any way to do OLL and PLL without algos? If there is, could you post a tutorial. Like the one for F2L? I loved that one! It helped me drop almost 1 and a half minutes.

    As of right now, I do the Cross, F2L and then revert back to the beginner method (R U R' U R U U R' for aligning edges, U R U' L' U R' U' L to get the corners in place and then R D R' D' for aligning them). That's where it takes too much time :(

  • you cant do OLL and PLL intuitively. Lean the 2look OLL and 2look PLL ffirst

  • ive been doing your F2L trick for a long time

i still cant look at in an instant and quickly do it and then finish the other slots in just a few secs like you can

how can you do the F2L soooo fast

  • ist it true tht in competitions ur only allowed to use black or white

    cube?

i would appreciate it if someone would help me

    thanks

  • you can use any color cube as long as it's not translucent or transparent material.

  • It can't be transparent? :(

  • who rated this 1 star? Weird

  • Really useful, thanks once again

  • "Not Found

The requested URL /site/oll.php was not found on this server." - it says....

  • Can't load the page :(

  • I know you probably get alot of suggestions for alternate OLL algs, but I really think for case 40, and especially because it fits two triggers, F(RUR'U')F'(RUR'U')(R'FRF') is best.

  • your site lags

  • Could you make a printable version of your Plls on your HP? That would be very nice!

    Thanks!

  • I second this.

  • Do you think all of this energy could be used for something that makes money or gets a woman?

  • its funny you should say that because cubing has kinda brought me both. but you're right, there are more efficient ways of achieving those things, should they be your ultimate goals in life.

  • a woman and money are equal in terms of fulfilment. women like money so i suppose you got your priorities right then

  • someone needs to make a poster of rubik's algs

  • That is a really good idea actually, I think I may actually make one and stick it on my wall (I know its nerdy :p)

  • can you supply us with alorithms that are 100% best way to solve OLL

  • no. nobody can.

  • I'm loving watching your videos, and have made notes of many of them. I wish I had as many good cubes as you; I have five however I only use one for four of them are very poor quality.

  • Thx I was looking for that :)

  • 7:21

  • cubewhiz doesnt have little r' in the notation, your website is not loading, i am practically killing myself, WHAT DOES LITTLE r MEAN!?!?!?

  • its like R, but you take along middle slice as well.

some people call it Rw i thinnk too.

  • thank you :)

yeah, freaking cubewhiz uses Rw and doesnt post little r in the notation, but posts Rw, and expexts you know that they are the same

  • Sweet vid.

  • dang you did that at the start, that one handed!! your fast!! lol goooood job :)

  • can 3D software help?

  • is your site shown in the description down, because it wont work for megreat video by the way keep it up.

  • should i do just ur 9 algs or learn all of them,

    Same for PLL

  • Well, it's not either all, even if you only know half the OLL's you can still resort to the 2-look for the cases you do not recognise...

  • lol at the end...you are a symmetry freak!!!

    i am too....i love it!!!

  • how long should a oll algorithm take to execute?

  • I love the end :)

  • ???

  • ???? ? ? ?

  • Since i know i can't memorize all 57 algorithms (or at least don't have the time to) I narrowed it down to seven, but i have to finish the cross before i can start them, but i just memorized the 7 =]

  • im good at the 2look and i want to learn the propper way. i have all the algs for the OLL and PLL but how do i practice? do i have to jsut wait untill that particular case come up??? i a bit confused lol :(

  • lol. just do the algorithm anyway, it doesnt matter what you have on the cube! Besides, the patterns are cycled through

  • Perform it on a solved cube

  • can someone please tell me what is y' and x'?

  • 0:31

  • thanks bob

  • x is like doing a right turn to the whole cube, so x' is like doing a right turn counterclockwise to the whole.

For the rest, you need to seriously re watch the video. Only half a minute in he says don't ask, look. It's easy ;)

  • where did u buy ur whit diy cubes? and how much :O

  • cube4you(.)com from $7-15 and shiping to canada or US is around $5

  • dude how long did u take to learn all those algortihms O_o (ps can u find me a page like yours cause i have a spanierd [ spanish] friend that whanst to make it :D

  • thank you!

  • wewt castles at the end =DD

  • what cubes do you use?

  • Ok if u read this, i think this would make it 1000 times eassyer for every1,make a link to the page with the same algs and pics going in a line in wich 1s we learn in oreder from 1-57 soo tell me wat u think badmephisto, ok?

  • You are supposed to learn them at your own pace, what you are good at, and what you tend to get.

  • wow i sent this a month ago ur not supose to comment on this message its not for you and he answerd it soo dont think your cool cuz u can comment on a comment that was posted a month ago soo yeah.

  • dude...TAKE A CHILL PILL!!! I just left a simple comment and can't read minds! :)

  • bmep are there algos we could use to prepare the cube (un-oriented last layer) for practice OLL solving?

  • why not just have a solved cube, and apply the inverse of each OLL? To get inverse, read from right to left and negate everything

    eg inverse of R U2 F' is F U2 R'

  • Thanks a lot :)

  • is there a diffen way to do case 29 my left hand dosnt exacly control most of my movements

  • WOW taht was amazing ur alogrithms for oll are really easy...THANKSSS!!!!

  • I told you!

  • mm what I think its easier as a beginner I make cross on top and use the oll's with a cros :D

  • that would be 2 look-OLL its for beginners but its after u no all of those do u move on to all of them cuz cross making is slow.

  • i have no idea what you are talking about. try english next time. I have links in video description

  • ok take those oll's, number them from 1 to 57 in the order u think we should learn them. thats basicly wat i said

  • man i really need to learn these. two look OLL is ridiculously slow. For those that dont have the time/effort for 1 look OLL, i suggest just learning the Dot OLLs. Then you dont have to do f(RUR'U')f' F(RUR'U')F', which is rather slow. anyway, great video.

  • True, but partial-edge-control during F2L is a much better way to prevent "Dot" OLLS. so then you dont even need to know the "dot OLLS" haha

  • yeah, fair enough. thats not a bad idea actually...

  • Thanks badmephisto! Great website!

  • hey, can you do tutorial for a megaminx? thanks!

  • o never mind i see small f not big f

  • wenever i perform case 12 i get case 17 why is this and how can i change it

  • thanku becuz of ur site case 26 wasnt the same as that horible algorythem on cubewhiz

  • I learned all my algs from cubestation they are very good but I guess these are a little better but I am not going to re learn my oll's

  • i know, its a lot of algs, and I'm going to end up re-learning a few eventually as well. Its just the way it is, no big deal... 1 per week will do it eventually for me :)

  • case 31 confuses me

  • in the ruru trigger, remember that the second u is alo not prime!

  • oh! thanks alot

  • i recently found an awesome algorithm for case 53 on your OLL page:

    it's a anti-sune and T-OLL:

    R U2 R' U' R U' R' F R U R' U' F'

    very fast

  • sir, did you memorized all OLL's???

  • of course. and multiple versions. I know a few cases from different angles as well. It wasn't over night

  • pretty nice collection, thank you

    though I'm still a beginner (1:40 - 3:00 O__O)

I might come back to this when getting or having a cube that is actually good for speedsolving :P

  • I have been speed solving for a month +, I'm only sub 50 but these videos truly do help.

I'm only doing 2l-oll and 2l-pll so there is much room for improvment in the following months.

  • love your movies i now finaly got my first sub 16 sec (lucky)solve after 3 months of practice. All thanks to you m8;)

  • sub16 after 3 months? holy shit :) Either you're that good or I'm that good! Maybe both? I'd like to think so :) Nice, keep cubing!

  • Just an FYI: When you apply case #5 from your OLL page it makes case #13 instead of a completed OLL. The same algorithm is used on Dan Harris' site too. Could you explain the correct algorithm for #5 and make the correction? By the way, I think your videos and websites are great and should be the standard for anyone trying to learn the cube! Great job!

  • Thank you, I will fix it asap

  • Hey thanks! I guess I should have figured it out myself since it was just starting the algorithm with the "headlights" to the left instead of to the right. Anyway, I appreciate it!

  • That is a very good tip about the edge control. Wow I never used that before. Thanks!

  • I find the algs on Erik Akkersdijk's site pretty good as well. I think I'm going to pick and choose which work best for me.

  • your videos are a godsend. this is a huge help to all of us who might not know where exactly to look for the newest and best OLL algorithms. thanks!

  • ahahah i loved the ending.

    great video!

  • im learning most of the olls.

But im having trouble with x-y-z what are they?

i looked them and some websites don't help me

  • looked them up

  • go to cubewhiz(dot)com and look at the notation page.

  • x means rotate the cube downwards, y means rotate the cube tho the right and x prime and y prime are opposite so x prime is up and y prime is left and i dont know what z is

  • I'm confused about your camera angle. Do you have like a camera helmet? haha I kinda like it

  • I think he clips the camera to a headset.

  • i'm not that fast yet, so for now i'm happy with 2-look OLL. i'll probably learn the easy 1's now, just to make it easier later.

lol the names are funny but you stil got a few left to name

i still didnt learn the G-perms.. does anyone have any tips at all on them, or do u just need to repeat them til ther stuck?

  • i know 47/57 oll's

and 15/21 pll's. is this good enough?

  • Learning all the pll's first would be good, but it is good enough, maybe learn all of them next?

  • yeah i don't want to learn the G perms because they are so hard to tell the difference between the four of them. and the two N perms rarely come up so i don't need to learn it.

  • i got this from cubewhiz(dot)com. it helps with the g perms.

Cycling Three Corners & Three Edges

Though these look the trickiest to recognize, they are actually quite simple. I first AUF to solve the 1x1x2 block. Then, I rotate the cube such that the two corners that share the same color on the same face are on the left side. Then, based on whether the block is at the back, front, far part of the right, or close part of the right, I know whether to apply #14, #15, #16, or #17, respectively.

  • thats also the way i use to recognize the G perms. I find it quite easy

  • is this comment a response to LanceTheBlueKnight? i couldn't tell. lol

  • Learn the G perms. Check Thrawst's PLL video. You're DEFFINITLEY gonna want to learn them.. I remember for me it was a big pain in the ass to learn all 4, but its an even bigger pain in the ass not to know them.

  • Thank you guys for some really awesome algorithm suggestions by the way, I will add a few today.

  • Great Website! Thanks.

  • LOL!!! the end was the best!!!

the cubes sound like they're moving at the speed of light!!!

  • hah good :) i was debating whether or not to put it in because it has nothing to do with anything, but the end of the video is the right place to goof off :)

  • yeah, its good that you put it in!!!

  • love the footage at the head^^

  • thank you soooooooo much!!! im just starting to learn my olls so this is perfect!

i loved your pll page much more than stupid bob burtons and now i dont have to use his oll page too!!!

    you rock!!!!!!

im thinking of learn all the oll's with only one edge flipped correctly so that now my two-look-oll can never take three moves. (im sure someones already done this but i thougt of the idea myself!) =]

  • case #27, u highlighted the wrong move in red :P

  • hah you're right :) I will fix it thank you.

  • which cube is your fastest and wat lube did u use?

  • Thank you for making the vid.

  • Hadn't seen your page, been using Bob Burton's page since you linked it in one of your early vids. Seeing the OLLs grouped by triggers makes much more sense, wish I'd seen your page sooner :)

    excellent vid as always :)

  • i dont like either of bob burtons pages.

badmephisto's are sooo much easier. and faster.

  • i love the last bit.

  • thanks. i know all oll but i decided i needed to learn some faster algs. so some of the olls you use helped alot.

  • even though i no all OLL's this video was still helpful

  • lol really? thats a little strange :)

  • bad.. another great vid. FYI -- I'm coming right along.. again full Fridrich.. all olls all plls.. best of 21.56.. average is now 33-34. I'm not sure what it will take to get under 20.. but, working it. I'll tell you this.. your vids have been priceless!!

    thanks!

  • hi joe! awesome! and thanks. I saw some of your F2L one step stop vid and you seemed to be doing the cases quite right. It still seems like you are putting too much effort into turning the faces. Are you lubing your cubes? With a single flick on my cubes I can do a 180 degree turn...

glad to hear you are still keeping it up! :)

  • I need to make a more current vid. Cubes are lubed.. and I'm going much faster now. My f2l is still slowing me down.. but, am getting there. I'll make a new one with some solves in the coming days. I'd love you to check it out. Thanks again man!!

    j

  • lol, the OLLs I use are also from multiple sites, or I just make them
