The House passed the motion without a vote that ministers should change the UK-US Extradition treaty and European Arrest Warrant. The agreed motion is not binding on the government. So we are waiting to hear on this news and also from the European court that is deciding on whether Babar should be sent to the US or not.
It's shocking that Americans, who have a history in phenomenal race crimes, believe in the innocence of sexual deviant & murderer 'Amanda Knox' but not in the Muslim Ahmad Barbar.

@dipsii1 Unfortunately you need to enter an address. It's up to you but it's only a petition. The only thing the petition is asking for is to try Babar in the UK as he is a UK citizen - that's all. He is more likely to get a fair trial in the UK compared to the US.

i know nothing about this guy or his situation, however it seems logical to me to ask the question. if he is completely innocent, what benefit is it for the USA to have asked the UK government to detain this man? i only pose thos questio. because logically it seems counter productive to jail an innocent man, as the obvious reaction to that action is basically more bad press for them....
@Obligatory26 Babar was arrested in December 2003 initially and was very badly beaten up by the police. He was released without charges. Then he spent his time and effort exposing the police brutality against him. Strangely enough he was subsequently rearrested on extradition charges. During his time in prison the police admitted and compensated him for the brutal assault the police carried out on Babar. All people are asking for is if he is convicted of any crime try him in the UK.
@Obligatory26 Innocent people were accused of being terrorists and detained by the Americans to justify the Iraq invasion. Even though the people are innocent, it is embarrassing to admit it and let them go. Seriously, there has been no trial whatsoever. All those involved in detaining this man are disgusting human beings.

America is throwing its weight around seeing if it can get what it wants, do you really think they care whether he's innocent or not? i know nothing about this guy or his situation, however it seems logical to me to ask the question. if he is completely innocent, what benefit is it for the USA to have asked the UK government to detain this man? i only pose thos questio. because logically it seems counter productive to jail an innocent man, as the obvious reaction to that action is basically more bad press for them....

@Obligatory26 Babar was arrested in December 2003 initially and was very badly beaten up by the police. He was released without charges. Then he spent his time and effort exposing the police brutality against him. Strangely enough he was subsequently rearrested on extradition charges. During his time in prison the police admitted and compensated him for the brutal assault the police carried out on Babar. All people are asking for is if he is convicted of any crime try him in the UK.

Even though the people are innocent, it is embarrassing to admit it and let them go. Seriously, there has been no trial whatsoever. All those involved in detaining this man are disgusting human beings.

America is throwing its weight around seeing if it can get what it wants, do you really think they care whether he's innocent or not? Its too late for America to bow out gracefully now anyway, if they do they'll be admitting they put an innocent man through 7 years of hell for no reason, with no good evidence.
