The box set costs $126. Believe me, it sounds like a lot, but you will not regret the purchase, especially since this is a box set of Genesis' best period!
Yep, my mistake. Although the european release is one day before, November 10. As for the individual release of the cds, I post you the official announce from their website: "GENESIS: 1970-1975 spotlights five albums - TRESPASS, NURSERY CRYME, FOXTROT, SELLING ENGLAND BY THE POUND and THE LAMB LIES DOWN ON BROADWAY, plus EXTRA TRACKS 1970-1975, a newly assembled compilation *only* available with this collection"
I knew of that post, but read others saying that the CDs will be released individually @ a later date. Also, only Best Buy and Amazon have posted price for box set. Don't know $ from FYE. I traded CDs there hoping box set will come there and I can use credit. $125 is a lot of $
Well, it's kind of a bummer if you already have the remastered cds from that period BUT, only for that extra cd, I think it's well worth the outlay. On the other hand, I find it a bit dissapointing that they've left out FGTR and Genesis Live.
True. I'm interested in the Sheppton and Melody footage just to see Pete's costumes. Also, I hear the live albums will be re-released @ a later date. I've heard that FGTR is not that good, because it does not sound like their other stuff. Also, Jonathan King holds the rights to that one
I have the box set and I listened to the demos. Even in their embryonic stage, you can see how great the songs will be, and how talented the young members of Genesis were. Eventually, I should post videos with the full versions of the demo songs on YouTube. Hopefully the boys upstairs won't accuse me of copyright infringement and silence the videos.
This is proof that Anthony Phillips is the most tasteful guitarist of our time.

I've forgotten: I've still got my old Ft 165 Epiphone 12 string, bought in sept. 1980. I've tried funny things on it, but I'm not Ant Philips!....

Amazing!
When talking about Nursery Crime whith friends, I always insist on that: they were only around 20 years old!
So young, and what musical sense!...

Manipulation is the best Jackson songs. It sounds very much like Anthony Phillips' first album.

These guys were fucking geniuses right from the start. They had a unique vision. It's inspiring.

What a guitarist that man is !!

I knew this in the form of an Ant demo entitled "F Sharp" refering to the rare guitar tuning used in it. Now, where did you take this music bit from?

I believe this is from something called the Jackson tapes
JIF882 3 years ago 2
Right, and those tapes are finally going to be included in the upcoming Genesis box set (1970-75). Release date 12 November, 2008. Cheers!

Do you know if the CDs will be released individually on that day? I hear that they won't. Don't want to spend a lot of money on them

I will be getting the '70-'75 box set

@hyperboreal the remastered CDs wasn't mixed in 5.1, so if you've got a sound system with 5 speakers + sub it makes a whole lot of difference.
