You cannot manipulate something that doesn't exist.

We are all in one long "present", the here and the now. That's it. Time travel is not possible.

I don't buy the multi universe theory, I think if you were to travel back in time you would not be able to physically change anything period.

We live in a finite universe with beginnings and ends cause and effect. If we have the ability to move between universes, then we move in to the infinite where beginning and end cause and effect become meaningless concepts.
