Man, this brought back lots of X Memories...wow, the good ol Club Days!!! When the music was edgy, hot and fun..."Dead People" still live among us ;)..we just hide bahaha
Not only that, but Trent admits to loving old-school industrial like this, Throbbing Gristle, etc... I personally like NIN, as well as Front 242. I think people who like "Real" industrial should also respect NIN, because "Real" industrial musicians clearly respect NIN (Foetus and Coil doing remixes for NIN, among other things)
Your right. Since "real" industrial musicians respect bands like NIN enough to collaborate with them, it proves that all this elitism is just stupid.

A rough generalization: Front 242 is mechanical construction music to remind humans, torn against their revelation of violent automation, to feel. Dubstep is DJ ecomusic for raving bipolar acid hippies. Both have used the human scream to varying degrees of success.
Pre - DubStep? That's like throwing shit in with godly industrial beats not to mention the voice, then saying the shit is somehow the offspring of the gods. Front 242 is not hip hop ever.
