Look, Illyrians were like Celts, a large group of tribes. Illyrians lived all over the territory of former Yugoslavia. There probably was ( although there arent many evidences ) a tribe named Albanii in central Albania. Youre country is probably named by that tribe, and Albanians mainly live in that territory. Illyria was a federation of tribes, connected with common language, like SFRYugoslavia was a federation of nations, connected with language and origin.

Your analogy is incorrect because it would go more like this:
Suppose Serbia, right now, is divided up in tribes...southern serbia, northern serbia, central...w.e All together, they are known as Serbia, although there may be difference in dialects or even a few traditions, like there is in modern Albania for example and in many other countries.
Now, let us assume that Serbia is fighting against another "empire", goes through many wars, succumbs to the other empire (ie. The Romans in the Illyrian case). The serbians still remain serbian however...as history changes, the Roman empire falls, they are left with their land. They change their name from Serbia to something else. Still the same land...still the same Serbian descendants. Therefore, they are still entitled to their land.

It was always a part of our land...then some treaty in London happened, and it messed up everything from there. Yea...even though you can't really call them "Albanians" at that time...it was before the Westphalian treaty in 1648. Also, Albania, despite its old history, only claimed itself as a country in 1912. So it's fairly new! Until the Ottoman empire came to capture us for 500 years, we were all Christian, and we still remained in tribes. We weren't officially a nation. We just knew we were of the same blood, and fought against them together.

There was no genocide in Kosovo. There were war crimes, but no genocide. 5000-10000 Albanians died there and more than 1000 non Albanians. I wouldnt call it a genocide. War crimes are not justified, but KLA also commited crimes. Luckily for us, our Military and Police stopped them... for some time.

Any proof for that? How do you explain that by statistics, there were thousands and thousands of Kosovar albanians brutally murdered, and maybe a couple hundred Serbs killed during the war?

Look, Illyrians were like Celts, a large group of tribes. Illyrians lived all over the territory of former Yugoslavia. There probably was ( although there arent many evidences ) a tribe named Albanii in central Albania. Youre country is probably named by that tribe, and Albanians mainly live in that territory. Illyria was a federation of tribes, connected with common language, like SFRYugoslavia was a federation of nations, connected with language and origin.

From what I know, Illyrians did not even live all over the former Yugoslavia. For example, Macedonia was distinct from them, and there's historical evidence that shows that. The serbians still remain serbian however...as history changes, the Roman empire falls, they are left with their land. They change their name from Serbia to something else. Yea...even though you can't really call them "Albanians" at that time...it was before the Westphalian treaty in 1648. Also, Albania, despite its old history, only claimed itself as a country in 1912. So it's fairly new! Until the Ottoman empire came to capture us for 500 years, we were all Christian, and we still remained in tribes. We weren't officially a nation. We just knew we were of the same blood, and fought against them together.

Albanians started inhabiting kosovo in 19 and 20. century. Ottoman tax census indicates that Albanians werent even a minority in kosovo. And according to Decani chart, Serbs were absolute majority in Kosovo. Whole world knows that. You didnt get independance because of your "historical" rights, you got it because western nations wanted to remove socialistic regime in yugoslavia, and make yugoslavia western puppet state, that it is today.

Look, the map of Illyria, namely Ancient Albania stretched until the ends of Kosovo. The Dardanii are the Kosovars now, pure Illyrian, pure Albanians. That is the claim, based on linguistic evidence and DNA. Albanians, or "dardanii" as you put it are not a mix with Slavs! There was no "serbia" in the medieval kingdom yet. Illyrians and Slavs cohabited in that region, after Slavs came to our Illyrian land. There's no documentation that we ever "captured" that land, it was ours to begin with.

There is no evidence that Dardanians were Albanians. They may have had common language, but you cannot say its the same. I didnt say that Dardanii were a mix. I said they mixed with Slavs after slavs migrated to Balkans. But because slavs outnumbered illyrian tribes that lived there, they formed a country named Serbia. There was no genocide in Kosovo. There were war crimes, but no genocide. 5000-10000 Albanians died there and more than 1000 non Albanians. I wouldnt call it a genocide. War crimes are not justified, but KLA also commited crimes. Luckily for us, our Military and Police stopped them... for some time.

I'm very sorry that Serbians refuse to even acknowledge the victims of an ethnic cleansing plan their government had against Albanians. This is more upsetting than a piece of land. \What happened in Kosovo was recognized as a genocide by the rest of the world. I read that over 500,000 Albanians were killed in the war in The New York Times. The only people who don't recognize this as a genocide are of course the Slavs.

There's also a big difference between 1000, and 11, 000. There's proof that Serbia had the "horseshoe" plan, an ethnic cleaning plan at the time against Kosovo. Kosovo did not have such a plan, most deaths that happened were from the NATO bombings, not from us.

Victims of NATO bombings arnent counted in. It was reported that approximately 2000 people were killed or missing ( kidnapped ) because of KLA. More than 1500 people died from NATO bombings.
ICTYs sources tell us that less than 10 000 Albanians died in Kosovo. Dead KLA members arent counted separetly.

You can be 100% Illyrian but that doesent change a thing. Youre not descendant of Dardanians, because if you were, you would be on opposite side right now. If historical facts tell us that Serbs had more than 95% majority in Kosovo in the middle ages, it means you cant be descendant of Dardanians because they are mostly extinct/mixed with slavs. You can be descendant of other Illyrian tribes, which lived in Albania.

So you want to say that Dardanian culture and nation survived? There were less than 1000 "Albanians" in Kosovo in the middle ages. Its impossible that so small number of Dardanians lived there before Slavs came. Conclusion is that majority of Dardanians were killed or mixed up with slavs.
DNA tests show that Albanians have some Illyrian blood. But so do the other nations on Balkans ( SFRY nations ). We all have some Illyrian ancestors.

The number killed there (maybe around 2000) does not compare to hundreds of thousands of Albanians brutally murdered. Most of them were women and children raped, and burned. Their army under Milosevic were animals, not humans. How could anyone expect Albanians to react "peaceful and friendly" towards those people after all this?
