Manhood has been mis-identified. It is not physical as much as it is spiritual. Men in general think it has to do with being "tough". Since true man hood is defined by God, it is spiritual in nature. But a lot of men, particulary black men, think they have to "work" at it. There is no "work" in it from the physical standpoint but from the spiritual realm, it's always a "work in progress". The fake thugs like to put up a front and play headgames with these women to get inside them. Usually these women feel that the thug is strong, unpredictable, dominant, fun, and adventurous. Your modern day rap artist get paid to promote stereotypes. Most of modern rap is negative (mostly about sex, drugs, and money). Old school rap was the best (mchammer, fatboyz, etc). Combine bad rap with racism and bad parenting, then you got another thug produced. Many young blks look up to these rap artist as role models since the blk father is missing out of most of their lives. A kid needs the father figure to round them out.

My point on the issue was these dudes "assume" that real thugs dress a certain way and drive certain types of cars so they go and copy that in order to have the appearance of being real thugs. My History teacher said to my class that in about 10 ten years, he'll see us again and either we in jail, dead, had underage sex, or in college. I don't act like this at all. Therefore they go out and dress,talk and act like the characters the rap artist are paid to portray. No one in their right mind would give love and respect to a murderer or a drug dealer.
