i've seen that swap many times but they say that it isnt legal because of the

modifications to the engine bay to MAKE IT FIT and it causes problems with the smog check.....BUT i do know some people that smog illegal engines and run it as if was

from the stock engine ;)

@forgettorememeber124 Sorry but I dissagree with you. I've had 8 ae86's 4ac, 4ag, 4agze, 4agt, even a 3sgt, and I've been in a 1uz v8 wich is a drift car, With the right engineering, you can set up the little hatchy to take almost any engine, just my 2 cents, by the way, this is also awesome!!!

for the record to clear this argument! AE86, Levin has fixed lights Trueno has pop ups tail lights vary, they dont really have much to do with which edition the car is except SR5 SR5=SOCH down draft carbed GTS=DOHC fuel injected Sprinter GT APEX=JDM as fuck, DOHC same for levins, but the never came in SR5. and also every model came in a coupe version as well. end

In america all models of the corolla had the chasie code was a ae86 also all were flip up lights and had eather a 4age or 4ac gts and sr5 but in japan the gts was a ae86 and sr5 was a ae85 they dident do the chasie code in us to make less a head ace tho most say cars by jdm codes...this makes me miss my 86 lol ,also the coupe was around and had same stats as hatch.

actually it is an AE85 because the gentleman in the video said it was "an 85"...all that means really is that its came with a 1.6L SOHC engine when it was stock...and AE86 came with a 1.6L DOHC...but since theres a 13b in it now it doesnt matter...basicaly sohc and dohc are the only things that separate and 85 from an 86

car is in O.C. california...I'm asking 6,000...the chassis has 139,000 miles on it...the motor/tranny/lsd/axles/drift shaft were all put in just about 5,000 miles ago. It is an 85 sport gts hatch. look on craigslist in orange county and look up rotary corolla for sale for more info
