Wow! This was awesome. They both kept calm even though that clock was ticking away. Nathan Cook was one of the BEST Pyramid players ever. Such a shame he's no longer with us.
@WavemasterAshi Yes. Saying 'and' actually mimics the word 'add'. You would be buzzed. How about 'eggs to batter'? Or 'a room to a house"? :D Tough category indeed!
I would think so; if Nathan had used that clue, it would have caused the subject to be disqualified (judges would have thought it would have been too descriptive).
For those of you saying that this $25,000 win was so close~~that's exactly what it was. There were 4 or 5 seconds left on the clock when the players came back to the subject that was passed on. Of course you knew that and saw that, so forgive me for putting this comment in. My bad. ;)
Oh, yes indeed!!! I almost thought she wasn't going to get that "Things You Add" subject before the clock ran out. Those kinds of winner's circle wins are quite a nail biter. That's not the only one to have happened on the show, of course. ;)
I'm guessing you didn't see excuseyou77's clip of Nathan on The New $25,000 Pyramid from 1984, where he helped this lady win $25,000. The clencher for her was "Things You Stir".
For the add one, I wouldn't know what to say other than numbers.

If it's true that the preposition "of" was the only preposition allowed, "a pinch of salt"?

A child's homework numbers.

I wonder if "2 and 2 together" would get buzzed for Things You Add.

Would it be legal to say, "A sum" for the "Things you add" category?
snatcherboy 1 year ago
Nope. Any synonyms would automatically get the buzzer.

@snatcherboy
I wouldn't think so. It would have been synonomous.

Just wanted to say in tribute to Nathan Cook and he was a very smart, and quick thinker. I often remember our friendship, and miss him.

Actually there was 6 seconds left when Dick gave his Hurry Hurry.
On another note, would "2 and 2" be an acceptable clue for "Things you add"?

@vanni9283
Hard to tell about that clue. But when they came back to that subject, his clue was "Numbers", and she got it at the last second.

just imagine being in her shoes and with one second left you win $25,000, all the things you could use that money on right now.

I always like when Dick Clark would root for them... HURRY HURRY !!!

things you add WAS A KILLER CATEGORY.

@nextbarker
I'm sure it was a killer subject, but she got it in just in time. No contestant could definitely get it any closer than that.

WHEW! That was close! With 1 second to spare! What a relief!

She did it with 1 second to spare!! Congratulations!!
