Just select the eyes with the magic wand tool and then use the dodge tool.

its so easy to use once you learn it and get used to how it works. the challenge is that once you understand how to use the program, can you be creative with your skills?

Nice ideas but those retouched eyes look FAR too painted on and fake at the end of the vid. I'd personaly dial everything back about 50% and come to a compromise between the original and what you had, but then that is the beauty of Photoshops layers.

Yep that is the beauty of breaking everything up onto their own layers. Fully editable.

I would assume lag on the recording and nothing to do with his actual computer.

If you would prefer you can buy and download high quality versions on his websites and i would hazard a guess to that they are much easier to follow.

Absolutely! You can change the eyes to maybe make it look like you have shot the photo with a soft box instead of a flash, or strobe or whatever you want.

The only difference in gimp is the specific location of the option; i.e. which menu it's in and hot keys etc...
