Law was passed to ban discrimination, but there is still discrimination against Deaf people. Researchers repeatedly showed that ASL bilingualism works for Deaf students, but teachers use oralism, AVT, Pidgin Signed English (PSE), Signing Exact English (SEE), and others in classrooms. ASL is repressed and oppressed. Closing of some cherished state schools for the Deaf. And many more. Oliver Sacks' Seeing Voices isn't the best book. It's either Mask of Benevolence or Journey Into the Deaf World.

Having just finished reading Oliver Sacks's 'Seeing Voices', which documents these events, it's great to see them, and highly ironic that the mean-spirited WMG has forced audio to be disabled on this clip, so that it's entirely silent.
