Yeah but he did it because he thought she might die (or at least be badly hurt) if he didn't. He didn't tell her about his dreams probably because he knew Usagi would have ignored them anyway... mind you I have no idea WHY King Endyimion decided to "test" his own relationship... but it was an anime only addition anyway, it wasn't in the manga.
