Lions tend to dodge incoming blows and counter, the reason they fight with 1 paw at a time is because of power.A lion can move its weight into a blow with one paw more than two paws and knock his opponent senseles just the way boxers do. I would compare tigers fighting style to domestic cats but that would be insulting domestic cats.

Lions have much more enemies in the wild and there is also much more competition for food, thats why lions in the wild are mostly thinner than tigers in the wild.
