Actually, losing/replacing any member would greatly change a sound, as well as the bands teamwork and spirituality. Zep broke after bonhams death, metallica changed quite a bit after burton's death, etc, etc. Its not good to believe one member makes up the entire band, if it was them alone they wouldnt survive.

Yes Brain May is an amazing guitar player and I hope to be like him some day. But I think the real thing that made Queen click, was Freddie. I hope this clears up any confusion.
