  • This song is from which album?

  • I love this song !

  • rivers could an albums worth of songs like this in about an hour if he so choose.

  • Sounds kinda like the christmas song

  • Why, Why, Why wasn't this on Maladroit?

  • rivers is the greatest underrated songwriter...

  • I can see why older fans dont like new weezer. I still fucking love them though. I will say alot of my friends who hate new weezer havent really listened past green. Sometimes I like to experiment with their opinions, ill put on a (what i think is) an awesome track from red mala make believe and now hurley for my friends and 9 times out of 10 one of them will respond positively. Thats cause they were so put off by green than what they perceived to be lowest common denominator crap like beverl

  • @jdugmar y hills, they don't give the albums a chance!! They don't see that weezer still has some good shit!

  • This actually sounds kinda like a shitty song I'd write. I don't hate it but the fact I can write it definitely cheapens it.

  • I love Weezer so much, can't wait to see them live on April 30th!!!

  • his voice is really good

  • "looks like a big surprise" is my favorite line

  • Says something about Rivers' talent if he could afford to leave this off the album

  • Then again, this is much better than most of the album (and I am a fan of Mala).

  • nice shirt brian has on. The Who

  • this is the "goat punishment" weezer

  • he has a nice voice.

  • I heard a version with different lyrics..

    "Bip bopping strangers

    Downloading hacks....."

  • Yeah, but that one was called Little Songs.

  • and really great guitar work

  • yea like neal young

  • Its a shame this wasn't ever released on a Weezer LP. This is such a heartwarming song!

  • great song I can't believe this was left off Maladroit! could it be because it sounds so similar to Simple Pages? listen to the intro, very similar

  • what album is this from ? i ve never heard of it

  • its a b side on maladroit

  • This is nerd rock.

  • I hope they put this on the rarities album they plan on releasing! It's awesome!

  • That is exactly what I feel! Every Weezer album needs solos!! I'm a huge Weezer fan but was slightly dissapointed with the absence of solos on the Red album! I

  • It has such a 60s vibe to it...I love it.

  • wheres bob?

  • goat punishment :D

  • partly it sounds a bit like Fall Together from Maladroit, doesn't it?

  • not really...maybe b/c the opening line to Fall Together is "We go together, baby"?

  • Check the other vids from this performance... they play Fall Together, it's pretty different. But I can see a bit of similarity in tempo and key.

  • It sounds more like The Christmas Song.

  • I don't think that any Weezer album is bad, they all have their weak and strong points. Some definitely aren't as good as others, but not to the point that they suck.

  • Blue Album and Pinkerton. Their best for sure.

  • Oh totally.

  • Exactly how i feel, it starts getting annoying when you see people saying that the new albums are bad, maybe they just have high expectations because weezer is such a great band, but they are still my favorite and i will back them up because i think all their albums are good.

  • @2xSOdama Wrong. The new albums just aren't good. It's that simple. If I have to like the new crap to be considered a Weezer fan, then don't call me a fan.

  • @sandbaby i bet u cant explain why the new stuff isnt good,

  • @capturedevice62 Sure I can. The music is formulaic and boring. We used to get complex beautifully melodic arrangements, like Only In Dreams and Falling For You. Now we get Trouble Maker. He sings one note and spouts out awful lyrics. The lyrics used to be meaningful and clever.

Old Weezer: "The world has turned and left me here. Just where I was before you appeared. And in your place an empty space. Has filled the void behind my face."

New Weezer: "I can't stop partying, partying."

  • @sandbaby theyre not complex at all, theyre just gritty guitar parts, if you actually listen to the guitar parts, its the same shit over and over again, ur not telling me what the lyrics actually mean, theyre the same pop songs from before, and no he does not sing one note, actually learn to sing before you make criticisms, and to this day most of their lyrics from those songs didnt make any sense b/c they never did, and oo wee oo i look just like buddy holly is clever?

  • @capturedevice62 You're criticizing old Weezer. I guess you're not a "true fan". I'll never be able to convince out of your terrible taste in music, nor do I even care to. But to rip on the first two albums and defend the new terrible music Weezer has put out is just asinine. I've given you valid criticisms of the new Weezer songs when you said I couldn't. And that was only the tip of the iceberg, with what limited space I have in this little comment box. You have bad taste in music. Sorry dude

  • @sandbaby weezer is not going shit out the same album every single time so u can continue to lick blue album's balls; now that shit is boring, ur just thinking of teenage angst where teens spew out whatever comes to mind to explain how they feel about something b/c they think it means more but it doesnt, its the same stuff, theyre not teenagers anymore, theyre 40 year old famous rockstars, sorry ppl grow up, u probaby havent, try to understand stuff about music before u start talking trash

  • @capturedevice62 I'd actually prefer they change and evolve. But I'm not going to swallow every shiny new dog turd they release just because they're Weezer. And what the hell is angsty about Blue? Blue was just a masterpeice with well-crafted melodies and thought out lyrics. Angst?

Over the course of the last few albums, they've matured less not more. Rivers' songs get more childish and stupider every album.

y dont u try 2 understand musik gooder b4 you open youre mouf?

    You're a moron, dude.

  • @capturedevice62 wow, one person is saying their new music is meaningless and one is saying their old stuff is meaningless. If you two are really going to argue about which of their music is more meaningless, then you guys aren't Weezer fans, if you actually like them, you would respect ALL of their music, because its not thoughtless crap. They DO mature over time, look at their new songs like "Memories" or Im your Daddy", the music actually makes sense if you listen to it.

  • @monkeytoiletman For the record, Rivers has realized that Raditude isn't a good album. He and the band came out with an album 9 months after it and they rarely play songs from it anymore.

And the majority of Raditude and Hurley are co-writes, so they are technically meaningless to the band.

  • @2xSOdama The new albums are bad. Make believe meh. Red, some good songs, Raditude, 1 or 2 good songs, the rest is garbage, and Hurley is a step in the right direction.

  • @KoolThing14 I did post this 2 years ago, and I hadn't heard raditude OR hurley yet, and to be honest, I still havent really listened to them. But yes, Make believe was just ok; I did like Red but I don't think its on the same level as Blue, Pinkerton, or Maladroit (yes I like maladroit... sue me)

  • @2xSOdama Hey man, I like Maladroit too. When I just feel like shit, Burdnt Jamb and Death and Destruction are there for me.

  • =GP=!!

  • I hate how Weezer "fans" have a never ending supply of bad things to say about Weezer (and no, getting nostalgic about Pinkerton does not count as liking Weezer).

  • well said, all Weezer stuff is great :D

those people who say crap about them are not fans, or at least not very good ones

  • @regularperson46 I will admit that pinkerton and maladroit are my favorites but they still put out some relaly good songs. Albeit the style is a bit different, it still has the soul of Weezer, and that's what I love about this band.

  • @regularperson46 hey,i am a big big weezer fan i even played with them @ the hootenanny tour...and i don't have anything bad to say about weezer,i love pinkerton yeah, but i think their career has been a really damn good one,so who am i to judge? i love their music, period.

  • @regularperson46 Is that so? Well riddle me this. Lets say you know an artist. You loved his old paintings, but now he makes paintings that just aren't near as amazing. You still have every right to like the artist and be a fan without liking his new stuff.

  • I don't understand you people. I thought the Red Album was their third best album. Although I agree with the fact that Make Believe was a crappy album.

  • it seems like they was trying somethign new on the red album. Thee is some great songs, do you wish there was some rivers lead solos on some of them tracks?

  • yes!!! who knows why he is giving up solos lately??

  • so i was looking for we go together from grease and i came across this and the first chords and lyrics at the start of the song sound the same as grease and i was like whoa

  • me encanta, good fine.i love you muakkkkkkkkkkkkkkk, mayrita de lima peru

  • Wow...am I one of the rare people who likes this song?

And does any hardcore weezer fan know why this sounds exactly like "Little Songs" with different lyrics? I'd like to know if anyone else noticed that....

  • It's just a re-worked version. obviously.

  • No, I like this song too. I will even go as far as saying this is one of my favorite Weezer songs. But Little Songs and We Go Together are pretty much the same songs sans lyrical content and some instrumentation.

  • whoa favorite song? That's pretty far...I'm gonna go as far as saying it's one of my favorite b-sides

  • I listened to them back to back.

Exact same melody. Totally different lyrics.

Just another reason why Rivers is so amazing.

  • basically the same song, yep....I like this version much more, though

  • me encanta este grupo cuando viene a PERU, sin duda mi grupo favorito.

  • its fair to say that the red album isnt a great 'weezer album' in so far as it doesnt really sound like weezer.... but i think make beleive was very good

  • haha I have to say this is the worst weezer song to EVER be created. Along with some of those other maladroit demos. Although, Maladroit turned out to be a good album. Rivers' musicianship is not distasteful. Look at his early writing if you don't like any new weezer. I really didn't like the red album or much of make believe at all. But he's created some amazing music with the band.

  • this doesnt sound like a live recording

  • it does and does even more with headphones on.

  • Goat punishment and weezer are the exact same band with the exact same line-up look it up on wikipedia.

  • Brians Wearing a The Who shirt

    ausome

  • weezer is the best

  • Mohterfucking Weezer rocks way too much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • yeah but this isnt weezer

  • ok..........

  • ummmmmmmmmm ?

  • It's Goat punishment.

  • agreed

  • Whatever they called themselves or toured as when they played this song, it is still WEEZER.

I remember seeing this song performed on a live special...I think it was on MTV a few years ago, before Maladroit. Was very bummed to learn it never went any further and got cut. I had a hell of a time finding it. Thanks for posting this.

  • It was on HBO. I think

  • yeah it is, if it was weezer it would have th =w=, but it has GP i think...they sometimes play under this name, i cant remember why...its still the same ppl tho lol

  • 3 thumbs downs huh

    whatever

you guys are just pissed off cause you

cant admit that weezer and goat punishment are two completely different bands

    get over it

  • =GP= forever

  • hell yes man!

  • "Its Kinda Jungly in here"

  • i frickin love this song! please come to holland!:P Lol. Now I sound like a groupie right? Well I'm not, I just like their music :P:D:D:D =w=

  • Great b-side!

  • i dont get why this song was cut from maladroit.

  • it's better sung as "little songs" very rare

  • Amazing. The =W= always rule! Album six June 2008!

  • GOAT PUNISHMENT!!!!!

I wish I could get one of those GP shirts.

    =w= rules

  • they sound the same as teenage fan club

  • u realize this is from grease

never seen grease just found out myself

  • if you actually did some research, yes it has the same name but are totally different songs.

  • sorry didn't know not critisizing weezer they awesome

  • its ok i was just saying it wasnt from grease =P they do have similarities though

  • This song is good. Yet it got cut from Maladroit. Maladroit was, save for a few songs, bad. W... T... F?

  • do anyone else have this mp3 version??

  • Weerez (dot) com probably has it.

  • I love Weezer.

This song is amazing, why wasn't it on an album?

    =w=

  • this song should have gone on a Weezer album. It's good

  • goat punishment FTW

  • My favourate band ever!

  • THE GOOOOOOOOOAT

  • goat punishment!!! i love that song!

  • after hearing this song i was like wow i really love weezer even more then b4 and thats like more then the amount of women gene simmons slept with , =w=============

  • my fav band thats for sure, i love slayer, dragonforce, ect.. but it always comes back to the weez =D happy new year urrrbody =w=

  • rivers cuomo is my hero!

  • CUTE!!!

  • i never knew there was a light up =gp= sign, thats badass, i want it

  • holy shit is rivers using the blue strat i thought that thing was dead

  • on which album can i find this song?

  • never made it... it's out there among all other demos they made. i guess you can dowload it somewhere. it's also known as "little songs" i think

  • im a wet dildo head

    =swoop=

    hahaha swoop wtf?

  • actually a wet dildo figure head...so basically a dildo withou any real politicl power....and im kind of unsure, are you taking my comment personally, because actually it was directed at my friend jsbuo....

    =swoop=

(its a mixture of =w= and swoop a word me and my friends use when were bored((that made no sense)))

  • no im talking about i am literally a dildo =swoop=

  • oh, okay, cheers

    =swoop=

  • rivers has a nice beard

  • I KNOW! it's cool when he has a beard

  • that song is perfect, quick and to the point. thats how i like it!

  • funny now how Rivers use's the SG and the rthym guitarist uses the fender.

  • not trying to be a jerk, but no...rivers uses the fender, and brian uses the sg, because rivers freaking shreds like enron on inspection day(bad pun, and similie?) but brian can still shred too...weezer rocks

    album six

    whooohhh

    =swoop=

p.s. in casino rocks..dental identities will tell us apart

  • Um, when the tiger bites, bite back? No, I am better than all of you.

  • THE GOAT RULES!!!! =GP=

  • w00t GOAT PUNISHMENT!!!

  • reeks of awesomeness like lke a k mmm mmm mmm

  • your mom listens to nirvana and likes it to

  • Kurt Cobain wasn't a great musician, especially with solos because Nirvana was a punk rock melodic band. If you want to hear heavy metal solos then do not listen to Nirvana.

  • rivers is can shred

he was in an metal band calles 60 wrong sausages and they rocked very well, there is a video they play trhe song answer man on the weezer dvd

  • i highly respect kurt cobain for his songwriting and he did give only one of kind shows live for ppl.

  • Hey that's the same as "Little Songs", except different words!

  • Oh yeah, just a another thing.

Some people actually think Kurt Cobain is alive and still writing music...as Rivers Cuomo.

I thought it was kinda funny- "Rivers Cobain." Google it.

  • and kurts solos sucks, all he does in his is just like play three notes and hold them out with distortion. That's most fuckin stupidest shit ive ever heard

  • I agree that Kurt wasn't a great musician, especially with solos, but he was a great songwriter and performer.

  • Are you guys retarded! take it to the Nirvana sucks room or whatever, Kurt had a timing/ touch on guitar from some other punk rock world, you can argue that he wasn't 'as good as the wipers' but something different emerges from that touch. Aren't we supposed to be talking about =W= here anyway!

  • u just retarded and ignorant. I dont see you rich and famous with rock band.

  • First, redid all of the second guitar parts of the first album after their first second guitarist left. Second, he doesn't do any serious guitar solos cuz hes playing pop music and as you should which i guess you dont, you never have serious guitar solos or you only use three chords in the song. Third, he could reach certain chords that most people in rock singing cant. And,at least he didnt blow out his brains like a dueshebag with a shotgun.

  • jbuso u a serious gump. Rivers was originally a shredder with mad skills. He was a metal head. I saw one of his original shows with his metal band. He fry the fuck out of Kurt in guitar he just doesnt do it in his songs.

  • so great

  • basically a great example of a piss poor band, thank god hes budhist, lets hope he keeps his vow of celebacy, someone needed to end the legacy of poor singing, guitar, and musician ship, AND THEY BROKE UP, HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

    nirvana kicks weezers ass

  • Ok, first of all, Rivers isn't a Buddhist. He was raised on a Hindu Ashram, he doesn't talk about his religion in public. Second of all, they didn't break up, if you go to their website, Rivers said that they're recording their new album in July.

Nirvana is great too, but you can't compare them to =w=, they're 2 different styles. And plus, I think that Kurt would respect what they're doing.

  • Kurt would poop on Rivers' chest, oh wait a second he's dead

  • ...Did you just razz Nirvana AND Weezer in the same comment? For somebody who said "nirvana kicks weezers ass," that was a pretty cold statement for both Rivers and Kurt...

  • Riverz would completely destroy Kurt Cobain on the guitar.

  • That's not really relevant to what I commented on. jbsuo said that "Kurt would poop on Rivers' chest, oh wait a second he's dead." Do YOU think that was cold? It doesn't matter how untalented Kurt was, or how talented Rivers is, that was STILL a very rude thing to say.

    Oh, his name's Rivers, BTW.

  • are you kidding, do you really think I would actually think it's spelled Riverz?

Kurt couldn't even play that little guitar fill River(s) plays before the chorus.

  • Once again, it doesn't matter. I wasn't concerned with how good Kurt was at guitar or how good Rivers is, the jackass I was commenting to said a cold thing about Kurt and attempted to insult Rivers. I could give two shits about their talent.

And nothing stopped you from spelling "Rivers" It's not Riverz or River (as indicated by the (s)) it is Rivers.

  • riverz is the man

  • amen he would!!!

  • thanks!

  • You're retarded.

Weezer is a rip of Pixies? Kurt Cobain said himself he "was basically trying to rip off a Pixies album." Look it up. And Rivers would tear up Kurt at guitar. Cobain was a great musician, but he wasn't great a player.

And they didn't break up either. Album six in early 2008.

That being said, I enjoy Nirvana, Pixies, and especially Weezer.

  • I don't mean to point out the obvious but YOU'RE FUCKING STUPID.

  • nirvana is a grunge band, weezer's not even almost a grunge band. kurt's songs are more self loathing, while rivers songs are more self pity.

kurt and rivers were friends and on the same label at the same time and rivers was crushed about his death. weezer is an awesome band, and rivers is a great guitarist and singer.

  • Early Weezer songs definitely had a grunge influence. They themselves weren't grunge in the same way rock isnt blues, but there was an influence.

  • and second of all, weezer sucks i cant believe you guys are so deaf, they are making aliving of off ripping off the pixies, and the guy cant even play guitar, trying to solo, hes a three chord king! what a douche! a slipery wet douche, plus he sucks at singing hes a little whiney bitch! the drummer cant keep a beat

  • okay, first of all, anyone who calls rivers a three chord king, hasnt given proper reasearch on this subject, rivers is a shredder, and he knows his way around the neck of a guitar, and ripping off the pixies??you do realize that all music is, is listening to something, taking what you like from it, and trying like hell to disguise it like your own..so just shut the fuck up, kay?

    =swoop=

  • Jose (=W=etback!)

    IN/CASINO/OUT

  • your a wet dildo figure head

    =swoop=

  • your a gerbil caught in a stinky butt pipe

  • Listen to 60 Wrong Sausages and their song Answer Man here on Youtube. That's Rivers singing and playing lead guitar, and if you STILL think he can't play guitar after that video, then apparently nobody can. And also, who gives a crap who rips off who? Everyone in music has ripped off others, including the Pixies.

  • Dude, Weezer did a song that contains every note in the musical spectrum, so don't go around saying Rivers is a 3 chord king. And I've yet to hear where the drums fall off beat, stop falsifying Weezer...

  • Great song- Great era of Weezer. I want this day back, and no more of that pink/black Beverly Hills crap.

  • weezer, weezer, weezer, thats all i can say,

    =swoop=

  • That's all those wetbacks are being taught in our school system. Teaching enough english just to get by in materialism. Thats makes me so sick that i could just puke all over my taxes.

  • if you go to weerez com you get all there mp3's bootlegs

  • this song is not released on any of their albums. they were touring under the name "goat punishment"

  • OH! It was a goat punishment show.

  • A. Do you have the rest of this live set

    B. What album is this on? i have all of them and I don't remember ever hearing this one

  • Awesome song.

  • Holy crap, Batman! What a great live sound. Give me more 'Weezer' ..... please. Just can't get enough.

  • God I love weezer. What is it about them that makes them so great? Rivers' voice is so... MAN. Hard to describe the way I feel about this band. Loved em' forever and always. =w=

  • amazing

  • good song

the play at the knitting factory in la
