Yes that would work, the only catch would be, that to snare coyotes, up here in manitoba, we have to use certified traps and snares, so we use Power Ram snares, It makes things easier to use the ones that are certified
I like to round out the snare on a steel post or in the case of being in the field(I carry spare stuff to make the snares), use my ball on my trunk bumper, better catch rate do to them never touching the snare until it's too late.
dude that is sweet! well detailed and made a lot of sense to me. i also want to start trapping yotes, but never really found a way that made sense. AWSOME video!!!!

Nope, the spring steel of the Power Ram is enough to get the certification to be used on coyotes.

nice!
if just setting a regular snare without the ram, all you do is use the set up you showed us with the wire that holds the snare in place?

Papco #5 steel nuts, they are cheap and easily found at most of the stores around here

I use ferrules instead of nuts like yours, what kind of nuts? maybe a softer metal since I would think they'd normally break instead of collasping.

ya, I just run a piece of cable through the spring of the ram and tie it off to a solid tree or fence post

yeah, they are quite effective, quickly kills the coyote so that you can reset the same spot over and over.
