  • Most people "jerk" the weight because they are rowing more than 15 pounds. You have to be explosive and fast to row big weight.

  • 15 reps? I was always told the more weight and closer to 6 reps you do the bigger you'll get and if you use less weight and more reps is more for endurance workout or whatever.

  • IMO, 6 reps is too low unless you are purely a power lifter. If you're lifting to to improve your physique and overall fitness, I'd suggest higher reps... and little rest between sets.

  • you don't get must muscle if you do over 10 rep sets, you should do (beginners) 8-10 rep 2x sets and 1 with 3-5 reps

  • well that's actually what I'm training:) powerlifting, but doing 12 rep sets don't really increase your muscle mass, and true, you need endurance. that's why you do the sets with reps up to 15 once in a while, heh I'm huge too, everywhere

  • dude, there's no use to argue about this because each person has their own goal in bodybuilding.. you are entitled for your own opinion but there's no need to call anyone a sack of shit. each person has their own idea how they wanna look like when they start bodybuilding. so.. you like to look ripped, that's fine. I personally prefer the massive size and big muscles. And I have no trouble fitting in a suit btw ;)

All the things your saying about big muscle type of bodybuilders IS NOT "especially true", it's just your opininon, so maybe you should consider starting your phrases with: I think that... Different people like different things.

  • I do my sets with 6-10 reps [36kg], +1 set with 3-5 reps [40kg] that's a pretty good set for gaining muscle. You should also do a couple sets with more reps up to 15 now and then

  • I row close to the upper back, too. some guys row low to the hips. others row about middle chest or just below your nipples. it all depends on which form your body is comfortable in and responds to the excersize.

    For maximum back results, you should keep your shoulder locked in relatively the same position. He seems to be using his shoulder for a lot of it, which involves the shoulder more, and of course takes away from the back gains.
