@TheWarhammerHobbyist their really not, in the last edition the only time vampires didn't work was when the player didn't know what they were doing. Their are no 'crap' armies, only players ;)

i like this review , and iw as jsut curois i was thinking about starting vampire counts and i was going to make it so all my core was ethier A skeltons, or B ghouls and then have grave guard and others for special do you think this will work? just curious about your oppion or anyones oppion

I have a question though. My roommate is a vampire counts player and i think he seriously needs to add to his forces. What would your recommend he do as a veteran vampire counts player. Same goes for anybody else watching this video. He needs a lot of helm. My idea is he could boost a lot of his hordes and then just use summon undead to summon them beyond starting size. However he needs more guys. More ghouls, grave guard and blood knights would help him. Any advice is appreciated.

I actually am unsure if i want to see the vampire counts getting a new codex. Like you say it's not as outdated as bretonnia or ogres.

Vampire counts may have some downsides but multiple vampires can use the same vampiric powers. In decent sized games magic is still pretty powerful for vampires. Knowing an entire lore and having certain vampires generate an additional 2 magic dice per turn is tremendous for vampiric powers. You can even wield a BSB with vampiric powers.

@linkinhearts666 I would always command my High Elven, Wood Elven, & Dark Elven armies with Mages & the new rules have there ups/downs...but remain in play spells are cooler now then before so I think they kind of balanced everything out now...before I would have around 14-18 power dice with my High Elf army lol even Dwarves would fall over flat lol...I'm going to miss the old magic rules a lot...

I honestly don't see a new book coming out for some time.

The current book isn't bad or horribly outdated like many of the current armies, plus with the lineup of new releases GW has in store, I don't see a VC book coming out for a while!

This is just my speculative opinion though ;)

i think the wood elf codex should come out next as a long time wood elf play (my starter army) with the new rules they cant work with the current codex

@Dimitrij90 you need a vampire or two and definately black nights with their killing blow 2+ armour and skeletons are pretty useless i mean their no better than a night goblin and thier twice as expensive also ghouls will be a major help with T4 and poisined attacks im not telling u 2 get them but this is a good idea

@Bullet4Val I god another vampire now on a steed and planing on getting a big balck night unit (vampire in it) already. :) Why are there sekeltons in that armybook anyways if they are that bad.. i thought they look cool so i now have a unit of 25.. Isnt there any use for them? Ghouls would be nice but i dont like the current gw models.. believe it or not i liked the metal ones better :D

The 25% rule is great

It doesnt underpower the vamp counts at all

they perform awesome in 8th edition

but i do agree that 3k-5k is gonna be difficult and fear is now maybe a bit underpowered.

I agree they perform pretty alright in 8th ed, I personally don't think they will be as much of a 'power army' as they were in the previous edition.

I have to agree with the other guy. These are my favorite types of vids when you do the reiviews on the armies etc in warhammer fantasy. I am a 40k guy but seeing these reviews is making me consider trying out warhammer fantasy
